Whatever Happened To Hell?

Hell used to be a central part of Christianity, playing as big a role as Heaven. Yet growing up as a practicing Catholic and even as an altar boy, I don’t remember ever hearing anything about Hell. It is as though priests are embarrassed to mention it and would rather forget all about it. In some places Hell as been down played to the point of merely being the absence of Heaven. Religion’s Double Bind

All religions are caught in a bind. A bind none can escape and dooms them whichever option they chose. The bind is at the core of all practicing religions and cannot be ignored. Few know anything about non-Christian religions and therefore no thought is given to the religion of their birth. Hardly any ever sit down and ponder the arguments for and against the existence of God, it is simply assumed. Hopefully these questions will make people at least think. Do Babies Go To Heaven?

The fundamental belief of Christianity is that all who accept and believe in Jesus will go to Heaven. (Acts 16:30-1) But what about babies who die before they are baptised? They are clearly not capable of understanding Christianity or Jesus and can’t make any decisions in that regard. So the question is, do they go to Heaven? On the one had they clearly don’t  meet the requirements, but on the other hand it would have to be an especially cruel God that sends innocent little babies to Hell.
