My Problem With Obama

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a liberal, a Democrat and I’ve voted for Obama for this election. My problem is that my main reason for voting for Obama is that I want Romney to lose. Obama’s campaign has consisted solely of stating Romney’s ideas are bad (which they are), yet he has not defended his own ideas or offered any new policies for his second term. Obama is fighting a defensive campaign, offering to prevent Romney from making things worse, but not offering any ideas for how to make things better. Romney And The 47%

Mitt Romney made the news for his declaration that he doesn’t care about the bottom half of America. Apparently they are poor because they do not take personal responsibility for their lives. He repeated the usual Conservative rubbish, that there is an enormous group of lazy dossers who treat the rest of society like servants. Never mind that he got his facts wrong. Never mind that he is supposed to be President of the whole country. Never mind he ignored the suffering and shame that the poor undergo. Mormon Madness

Now don’t get me wrong, it’s a free country and you can believe whatever you want. But I think religious views should be treated the same as political views. They should be regularly discussed debated and criticised. If you say something bizarre in a political debate you should be pulled up on it. Likewise if a religion has bizarre beliefs it should not exempted from criticism. Which brings me to the topic of this blog. While it is a fact that every single religion has bizarre parts (2 every animal was able to fit in the Ark, snakes talking people into eating apples, virgins giving birth etc.) However the Mormons are in a league of their own. Their teachings are so ridiculously absurd it’s a wonder how anyone can take them seriously. As there is a chance Mitt Romney, a Mormon, might become President, it’s a good idea to see what the 14 million Mormons believe. Continue reading “Mormon Madness”
