Terrible Parts Of The Bible: Part 5 – Racism

I would have thought the Bible of all books would be about love and peace for the whole world. I would never expected quotes from God or Jesus claiming only some ethnic groups were saved or that some were superior to others. But that is exactly what I found.

First of all there is the constant claim that Jews are the “chosen people”. Now surely a history of the Jews should teach a strong lesson of the dangers of declaring one group of people superior to all others. It always ends in trouble. Just ask the Germans.

The Bible seems to have one rule for the Israelites and one rule for everyone else. If you don’t see what’s wrong with this remember that America had one-rule-for-us-another-rule-for-you laws. It was called Jim Crow.

Before anyone says the Bible wasn’t racist because he wasn’t based on skin colour note that the United Nations defines racism as “any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin”. So treating people different because they are from a different tribe or ethnic group is racist.

In Deuteronomy chapter 7 the God tells the Israelites that there are other ethnic groups living in the promised land. Does God tell them to live in peace and harmony with them, with everyone respecting each others’ differences? No he tells them “to smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them nor shew mercy unto them. Neither shalt thou make marriages with them.” (This isn’t the only time the Israelites exterminated others, see here) God commands the Israelites to exterminate another people, not for any crime but merely because they are a different ethnic group with a different religion. This exceeds even the Ku Klux Klan level of racism.

Chapter 25 of the book of Numbers (verses 1-13) tells of when the Israelis began to inter-marry (it uses the term “commit whoredom”) with the Moabites, a neighbouring ethnic group with a different religion. This provoked the rage of God who commanded Moses to “hang them”. One man had married a “Midianitish”. An Israeli, Phinehas killed both of them with a javelin. God praises him for this and declares he “hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel.” He then rewards him with a “covenant of peace” and the covenant of everlasting priesthood.” Moral of the story, God doesn’t want you to mix with people other you’re own.

Mixed marriages are denounced again. When Nehemiah was governor he found that Jews had inter-married with other ethnic groups. He “cursed them, and smote certain of them” for committing “this great evil”. He concludes with a malicious vague sentence Thus “cleansed I them from all strangers”. (Nehemiah 13:23-30) The exact form of this ethnic cleansing is not described. Yet this is included (without criticism) in the Christian holy book and we are supposed to worship and live our lives according to it.

Far from being open to all people, non-Israelis were actually banned from joining the religion. “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever;” (Deuteronomy 23:3) So even if an extremely distant ancestor was from a neighbouring ethnic group, you could not become a Jew. Only pure Israelis could join.

The book of Nehemiah (chapter 13) records that when people were told of this law, “they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.” (Nehemiah 13:3) So here we have an ancient version of ethnic cleansing.

Not some might say that was all in the past, that Jesus replaced this hate and bigotry with love. However even Jesus looked down on other people.

“And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying; Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.” Matthew 15:22-8

Strangely I have heard Christians use this story to claim Jesus was not racist. Apparently the fact he healed a Canaanite was proof of his tolerance. In fact I remember being told this story as a child, except I was told the disciples wanted to send her away but Jesus overruled them. However he initially refuses to even speak to her merely because she is different. He then declares that he only cares about Israelis, only they will be saved. He then compares her to a dog. All this vicious and disgusting racism coming from our saviour, the son of God. It is only after she is forced to beg, grovel and compare herself to a dog eating crumbs that Jesus decides to help her. If that’s not racist then I don’t know what is.(Mark 7:25-30 tells the same story except the woman is Greek according to him.)

Christians do point to the loving words of Jesus like, “Love your neighbours” or “Treat others as you would like them to treat you.” How do we square the tolerance of Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus,” with the vicious bigotry mentioned above? Part of this is because of the contradictory nature of the Bible. You can take almost any declaration and find another one that directly contradicts it. Matthew 10:5-6 tells the preachers to avoid Samaria as the word of God is only for the Israelites. Yet Acts 15:3 says the preachers did go to Samaria and converted many people. (For more examples click here)

For this reason we should not try to base our lives or government on a book that you can use to justify literally any position. We should not pretend it is “The Good Book”. Morality and  tolerance does not come from the Bible, it comes from society itself. We cannot worship nor blindly accept something that contains such blatantly racist comments. We should use our own ethics to judge the Bible not the other way around. Though, in doing so we are admitting that the Bible is redundant.

  1. Sad. Very sad. There are none so blind as those who will not see. Learn to study the verses you quoted in their context instead of twisting them to fit your ideology and disdain for the Bible. You call the Bible racist because of your own hate towards it.

For someone who doesn’t like the Bible, you spend a lot of time talking about it.

    • Well if I misquoted it please show me where and how. There’s a difference between criticism and hate. The reason I talk about the Bible is because it has such an influence on society, more than I feel it deserves, so I say why I think it does not deserve the praise it often gets. I dislike the Republican Party and still spend a lot of time talking about it (though not yet on this blog)

      • I have to ask this because its the question that popped into my head as soon as I read where you say not to say the bible isn’t racist because the United Nations definition of racism clearly defines the bible as racist…. Are you really using the United Nations definition as your set in stone version of what racism is?

First off, do you want to know how its FACT that the bible isn’t racist? God created one race in the beginning, once race. Not many races, one. People are people sir, regardless of anything or everything that makes a person the unique individual that they are.
I would say you yourself are racist purely because you have bought into the worldly definition of people being of different races. The bible doesn’t do that.

Secondly sir, the bible is ABOUT people, therefore it is in fact of course violent. In the beginning life was not as it is now.
Let me explain, whether you believe in Evolution or you believe in Creation, I believe we can all agree that there was in fact a time when there was the first people. Yes? Now, I think we can also agree that we are where we are in our timelines because of the choices of those people. Every choice someone else makes does in fact have a direct impact on everyone else, like throwing a stone in a pond and seeing the ripple effect.
In the bible, Adam and Eve made choices that directly effected the rest of history and the whole universe. Due to that, history is filled with violence, because people are violent, because life is violent. That is fact. The bible isn’t a fairy tale where everything is perfect and there is no sin, death, or destruction. No, the bible is filled with the desperate plight of mankind, and how God dealt with His people, the people He chose to use to redeem ALL of mankind.

The death of Jesus Christ clearly illustrates the violence of man, and how God used it for good despite mankind.
Jesus Christ died for all mankind, for you, for me, for her and for him. This life isn’t perfect, and in this life I will never be perfect, but I have a hope in Jesus that leads to life after death, and I am not Jewish.
The bible is about many things sir, but its core is love, “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13 (NASB). “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NASB).
That is the love of God, after countless rejections, He still gave the ultimate sacrifice.

I would also like to say, thank you for sharing your opinion. I appreciate reading what other people think, especially about the bible as it causes me to think deeper myself. So thank you!

In conclusion, I hope in future you will look at the bible without using say the United Nations as your definition for truth, and also realize that race isn’t a biblical term. Again, because according to the bible God created Adam and Eve, one people.

        • “Are you really using the United Nations definition as your set in stone version of what racism is?”

I choose the UN as it is a widely respected institution that I felt no one would object to.

“First off, do you want to know how its FACT that the bible isn’t racist?”

I’m afraid it will take more than caps lock to prove a point to me. You have to actually support your argument rather than just stating it.

“I would say you yourself are racist purely because you have bought into the worldly definition of people being of different races. ”

You don’t know what the word racist means do you?

Why did you not address any of the points that I made in my post but instead speak right past me? Are you just going to ignore everything I said?

          • ahumanofthemilkyway

I’m not even christian and you’re making me take the christian side. Don’t be an idiot, Linsey definitely did back up those points and was better than you at doing so. Given the significant scientific and factual advantage your view gives you, that’s pretty embarrassing.

Also, I’m pretty sure most of the stuff you quoted was old testament. I’m also pretty sure that Jesus said that the old testament was cursed and largely incorrect in its teachings. If I’m right then most of your points are irrelevant.

            • lol jesus

“I’m also pretty sure that Jesus said that the Old Testament was cursed and largely incorrect in its teachings.”

This is a staple of modern Christianity that makes absolutely no sense. If god is all knowing, all powerful, the beginning and the end, then does it make sense that at one point his rules, motivations, tendencies, and demeanor drastically change? No.

              Illogical and invalid. Embrace reason!

Jesus said I am come to fulfill the law and prophetts.everything in the tanakh old testament. Nothing us unrighteousnes in the old people see death and they flip out those people deserved nothing but death

          • Casper Sanchez

That was a cute little quip “It’ll take more than caps lock to prove a point to me” But I noticed that Linsey did not make liberal use of all Caps” Some people make use of capitalizing select words in their discourse for emphasis. Myself included.

Well here is the thing, you raise good points, but the reason that God wanted the people of Israel to be completely separate and not to intermarry is because there was contamination in the bloodlines of humanity. Read Genesis 6. If you like listen to Chuck Missler on the topic of Fallen Angels mating with humans and producing hybrid offspring.

Laugh here if you like, but there is a modern equivalent. Look at all the people who insist that they have been abducted and ovum and sperm removed from their bodies as well as being shown hybrid “children”

I have no proof of that. But it fits in a more sterilized way with the Genesis 6 story of Angels breeding with Human women, which produced giants. It was because of the Angels interfering with humanity and breeding hybrid humans which God never intended to exist on his Earth that God brought the Flood, to kill the Nephilim offspring. God takes the tampering with his creation VERY seriously.

By the way, if you thought that Genesis 6 was about the Good sons of Seth and the bad daughters of Cain, then you have been misled by the church adopting the “Sethite view” it’s likely they did so because it sounds so much less incredible, more down to earth.

However UFO’s and abductions have been taking place for millennia and across all cultures.

The Jewish people had one purpose, they were to remain pure HUMAN (there’s that caps lock again🙂 Why? Because that is what God created, humans not hybrids. He needed this so he could bring forth Jesus Christ from the Jewish Lineage and thereby offer salvation to ALL humanity.

As we today stand on the cusp of a “Brave new World” and our scientists are freely experimenting and implementing techniques to “better” humanity by hybridizing mankind, augmenting mankind with A.I. implantable technology and even more incredible predictions, (read “The Age of Spiritual Machines by Ray Kurzweil) humanity itself is stepping over the threshold that God himself set up as a barrier even to the angels. How do you think we will fare? Better? probably not. The angels that sinned, it is written are today buried in the bowls of the earth, Tartarus, to loosed at the end of the world. You can believe this all to be fantasy if you like. But what science is presently toying with, (merely because they can) is far more fantastic and dangerous than you could ever imagine.

          • You know it’s really sad to think that you point all the negatives and miss interpret them. It’s sad to think that you miss all the GOOD things God has done even for you right now. God has created this world for you to live in. He gave you food to eat and water to drink. And do you know what, he even provided the recourses for you to right this article. Right now he’s probably weeping for you because he knows the devil has just won. By you writing this article and writing it against God and the Bible, this is just made the devil very happy. Here’s a tip: don’t be a hater of God because he’s loves you but the more you are the more the devil is winning.
Romans 8:31 If God is for you, then who could be against you.

Robert Nielsen I think you still need to go back to Sunday school buddy.😂

        • ahumanofthemilkyway

WTF! I’m an atheist but I have to admit, the Christians are DESTROYING in the comments. Come on guys, that’s super embarrassing.

        • Jacob

“God created one race in the beginning, once race.” Who then divided into different ethnic groups that God forbade to internally on point of death. And that doesn’t excuse why jesus essentially labeled a cannite woman (Greek in another version) a dog and that his teachings are not for her, but explicitly for the Tribes of Israel.

      • Kristel

You have it all wrong. you spend this time reading to find what you want not to try and understand. the bible is wrote the way it is and a lot of it is figuratively. God speaks to you when you read so you can understand and people can not take his word and use it to their advantage.
God did not want anyone to marry them because they were not believers and wicked. it had nothing to do with looking or being different. God does not want us to marry unbelievers because it just makes more unbelievers and wicked people. we are all made in his image and race has nothing to do with this!!! I think it would help you to just pray and ask God yourself, because it is way to easy to misinterpret the bible and twist it

      • Esther Faith Elias

PLEASEEEE start with Hebrew 5 through 7 which explains that ALL who become Christians are God’s chosen people. It says the Old Covenant is obsolete. How did you miss that??????????

      • Ty Cezarson

I wish to say firstly that The Heavenly Father, Christ His Son and the Holy Ghost need not any created thing or one to defend them, for anything contrary, cannot withstand the collective Him, neither singularly. But I would say it is for that very reason the Love of God is so perfect, because when His perfect creation, that is mankind in His imagery and likeness, succumbed to corruption, God sought only to make ways to restore His creation to a state wherein He can again commune freely with them without inadvertently destroying them.
This can be viewed from two perspectives, one being that God sought to establish that type of separate and apart relationship, similar to that of a parent and their children is from the neighbour’s children, or even that of the parent’ siblings children, which speaks to ownership and identification. And secondly to establish a measure of standard, meaning that it shall be now known how to enter into the citizenry of the Kingdom of God, thus fulfilling the prophesy of every knee bowing and every tongue confessing that He alone is the Owner/Lord of every created thing. (See also Colossians 1:16-19)

    • Suri

I agree with you. The Bible can easily be miss-interpreted if it is not read in the context in which it is written. The verses before and after have to be understood because there maybe different and understandable situations which cause certain things to be said. Some verses should not be left on there own.

      • Chris

That is special pleading. I could make the same claims about any text, including the Koran. I can assure you that most religious people do not agree with your ‘in context’ argument as they go around quoting thousands of different parts of the bible just to suit their own ethics, without any effort to include a context. So it works both ways, or not at all. You can’t HAVE your cake, then EAT it too!
BTW, please explain the ‘context’ of “…whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death.” I’d love to know how this law is applied to our lives today and the bigger meaning behind it???

        • It doesn’t matter what “most religious” people think. What matters is what the Bible teaches in the context of what’s being said. People can use whatever document they want to justify their beliefs, but that doesn’t mean the document being used actually justifies what they are promoting.

The command/verse you refer to has to do with children respecting their parents. It deals with much more than a child throwing a temper-tantrum or needing correction during a difficult time in their life. It’s dealing with children who out right rebel against their parents and seek to harm them by their actions whether done by volition or by neglect. The point is about children respecting the authority of their parents – something that the culture of the Jews was meant to ingrain in their young people, and unfortunately it’s something today that seems to be sorely lacking in many homes in our culture.

As to the application of today, you can find it in Ephesians 6:1:3 which says: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.””

In the context of both the Old Testament and New Testament references the subject matter is about showing respect toward the parents and ultimately showing respect toward God.

You said, “You can’t HAVE your cake, then EAT it too!” and you’re right. That’s why 2 Timothy 2:15 and Matthew 7:21-23 and Luke 6:46 says what it says.

I don’t know if it will, but I hope this helps.

        • Greg

If doesn’t apply today sadly that’s why disobedient children are all over 12 year old girls stabbing there friends is just one instance had they stones them a head of time only the evil children would have gotten hurt. People put kids on a pedestal if a child has done wrong especially in cursing your parents you deserve death Jesus agrees but thru repentance and prayer we can find mercy

    • @Eugene

Learn to study the verses you quoted in their context instead of twisting them to fit your ideology and disdain for the Bible.

I think you will find that Robert’s approach to the bible has nothing to do with his ideology. This appears to be the preserve of the religious. So – called Christian ”prophecy” is the perfect example.
Furthermore, may I ask how one is supposed to view: “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever;” in any other context than how it is written?

I look forward to reading your enlightened perspective. Oh,and I sincerely hope your reply will not simply be vacuous opinion.

      • No problem. In context: “(3)An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the Lord forever, (4) because they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.” Deuteronomy 23:3-4

My friend did you even read that verse before you questioned me about it? If you actually did you should have seen that the very next verse gives the answer that you asked me to supply. The directive against the Ammonites and Moabites was because of how they, as a nation, had treated the children of Israel. It had nothing to do with their race.

Hope that wasn’t too vacuous for you.

        • Imagine if I said that no English person could join my religion because of the way the English had treated the Irish in the past. This would be racist because I’m punishing current generations for actions that previous generations did. They are being punished for something they didn’t do. Likewise blaming all Ammonites and Moabites for the actions of some is racist.

          • Again – it had nothing to do with race as the context plainly shows. But you’re so stubborn to make it so that you’ll come up with whatever comparison that causes it to conform to your preconceived conclusion. You’ll never be satisfied with any answer because you don’t want to be satisfied. And that’s why I said what I said in my original reply. You lose, again.

            • “Again – it had nothing to do with race as the context plainly shows.”

So declaring that another ethnic group could never join you is not racist?

“But you’re so stubborn to make it so that you’ll come up with whatever comparison that causes it to conform to your preconceived conclusion. ”

There’s no need to get cranky. If you don’t want to give a valid counter argument (something you have danced around doing), then that’s fine, but there’s no need to get in such a big huff.

              “You lose, again.”

              Only in your head.

              • Its interesting how you use the word racist, and then use the word Ethnic. Are they the same thing? Interchangeable?

Do people bother looking into the definition and origins of the word Race?

                Definition of RACE
: a breeding stock of animals
a : a family, tribe, people, or nation belonging to the same stock
b : a class or kind of people unified by shared interests, habits, or characteristics
a : an actually or potentially interbreeding group within a species; also : a taxonomic category (as a subspecies) representing such a group
                b : breed
c : a category of humankind that shares certain distinctive physical traits
obsolete : inherited temperament or disposition
: distinctive flavor, taste, or strength
                Origin of RACE
Middle French, generation, from Old Italian razza
                First Known Use: 1580
                Other Genetics Terms
                chimera, hermaphrodite, plasticity

That is what I came up with.
I find it interesting to note that the modern definition of race has roots in evolution. For if we are evolved from the animals then it would make sense that we are different species and sub species perhaps.
                Then yes I understand racism.
But I believe in Creation, and that I have no link to an animal, vegetable, or a mineral or such like. I am a woman, a descendant of mankind. As such race and racism has no sense, meaning, or practical application.

                • So you are saying racism doesn’t exist? If I hate black people that isn’t racist? The English have a history of racism against the Irish, but in your mind that isn’t racism because we are the same race? I’ll let you choose a word that suits you that describes discrimination against members of a different ethnic or religious group. Whatever word you prefer to racist, you can use that one.

              • Kristel

because God knows the future and knew the rest of the 10 generations hearts, he didn’t just curse them for the 2 He knew what was going to happen just like he knew what was/is going to happen in your life

              • Your such a hater for God. What has God ever done to you to make you hate him. He is all about love. God never intended for there to be racism in this world and besides you misinturpert it wrong. It was us, his creation that made it happen. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit that was bad they had sinned, cursing this world. He loves every little thing about you, he created you in his image. The only reason you can write this is because of God himself. When you eat your next meal think of God, when you drink your next drink think of God, when type you next word think of God and how you got to write it. Do you know that God is everywhere, even as your reading this he is there. He was there when you took your first step, when you grew your first hair and even in your proud moments he was there. He has been happy for you, proud for you and as you probably write something to try to put me down, be hurtful like you have been to everyone else and prove God wrong he is sad for you, but sad because he loves you.

Ruth was a Moabite and she was David’s grandmother. Also, Rahab was Boaz’s (Ruth’s husband) mother. Jesus came from the line of David which included gentiles. Read Jonah 4. It explains that the Israelites were racist, but God was not. Then read about Samuel and you will find that Samuel married pagan women who caused him to worship idols. God loves all races because we were all made in His image. He just requires them to repent. CONTEXT! CONTEXT! CONTEXT!

        • I stand corrected.
Could you then explain why Yahweh commands them not to abhor the Egyptians?

          • Arkenaten,

I’m not really that interested in getting into a debate about this issue, because it’s a non-issue to anyone who understands the context (the history, the “present” and future situations of Israel when it came to their role in the Old Testament w/ the Law of Moses) of any verses that are promoted as an endorsement of racism.

If you would like to sincerely continue the conversation (which is something that Robert is not interested in doing as you can see by his reply) you can email me and we’ll have a private discussion. You’ll find my email address in my Gravatar. And if you choose to do so, please provide the verse that refers to what you’re saying. I would imagine that you’re referring to Deuteronomy 32:7 (which also gives the answer in the same verse), but if not it’ll give us a chance to make sure we’re on the same page…and verse.

And just to clarify and point out the obvious (not for you, but for others who may read this), the situation/verse that you’re referring to is actually a verse that’s 100% completely the opposite of the post’s title.

            • I agree, it is a non issue. In fact one of the ”traps” atheists allow themselves to be drawn into is arguing aspects of morality etc about a fictional literary character with people who consider this character real.

While all atheists ( myself included) realise that no atheist would argue these points from any other basis, it should be stated up front that the only reason they are arguing this issue is because believers consider such characters real, and regularly act in a manner conducive to this belief. Waco, 9/11 etc

              So while I acknowledge my error regarding interpretation, the content and the characters it refers to is all nonsense;
As is any reference to Moses, or Hebrews being in Egypt as per the Pentateuch.

I reiterate. Atheists do not believe any of it. Don’t ever consider we are lending any credence to what you believe when we argue these points.

I hope this has clarified the position for you?

              • You mean the position where I said that what was being said in the original post was being said because of Robert’s disdain and hate toward the Bible? Yeah, it’s crystal clear. So much for keeping comments free of vacuousness, because last time I checked the issue was about trying to make the Bible say something that it does not – and the author failed miserably at it.

As far as your statement about the Bible goes, I have found that most atheists hate the Bible because they don’t want it to be true; it can’t be true for them to be who they want to be – they need it to not be true so bad that they go on vain and preconceived notion filled hunts to find reasons that they can reject the Bible so they can justify their non-belief. Robert’s post in just case-in-point.

And in case you’re interested, I already answered someone else in the comments above who brought up issues like “Waco and Sept. 11th” when it comes to the difference between people using a text to justify their actions and the actual text giving the justification.

If you change your mind about the conversation offer that I made earlier, it still stands. It’s up to you. I don’t like having these conversations on threads like this because the issue gets clouded very fast and the discussion, almost without fail, ends up taking the course where people talk down to and past each other.

                But thanks for replying, Arkenaten.

                • I am unaware of any atheists that ”hate” the bible. This is ridiculous. It is merely a piece of literature. And bad literature at that. What I do find is, most Christians are completely ignorant of its origins and composition and very few ever even read it.
Oh, and the bible is not true, either. Not in the sense of being historically accurate.
Not to speak for Robert, but I have already answered the question regarding why atheists engage believers over biblical issues: simply because believers are under the inculcated and misguided belief that it contains factual history and the central characters, including Yahweh, Jesus of Nazareth and Moses were real, and sadly base their worldview on such fallacious content.

We will always talk past each other unless you are able to consider that what you believe is due to cultural indoctrination and be prepared to examine the falsifiability of your beliefs.

                  • Parcour

That atheist hates the Bible. Where do you live? I believe you are lying to yourself, because multiple atheists hate the Bible and consider it to be a hateful piece of literature. And yes you can hate literature. I despise Shakespeare.

                  • ahumanofthemilkyway

Most atheists I know hate the bible, I’m the only one I know who doesn’t, and I know a lot of atheists

                    • Only fools hate. What;s to hate abut the bible>
Despise, sire. But hate? Wast of emotion.
It is merely a stupid collection of ancient documents.

“We will always talk past each other unless you are able to consider that what you believe is due to cultural indoctrination and be prepared to examine the falsifiability of your beliefs.”
If you’re going to have a sound debate, both parties have to be willing to accept the same concept. Arkenaten, are you willing to adopt the same state of mind in the debate? If you are, i’m willing to join this discussion. If not, forget I replied.

                • “because of Robert’s disdain and hate toward the Bible?”

Eugene why are you here? You have contributed nothing to this debate, instead you have been throwing insults from your very first comment. You have convinced yourself that I am hateful and stupid compared to you, so why do you hang around? Either add to the debate or just get out.

“I have found that most atheists hate the Bible because they don’t want it to be true; it can’t be true for them to be who they want to be – they need it to not be true so bad that they go on vain and preconceived notion filled hunts to find reasons that they can reject the Bible so they can justify their non-belief.”

Do you really believe that? Do you really think we all agree with you, but just don’t want to admit it because we want to sin and be evil? Don’t make me laugh. Look, the reason I don’t believe in the Bible is that its full of contradictions and stories that never happened.

But hey, if you want to believe that its because I’m hateful, then go ahead. Ignorance is bliss.

                  • If you don’t need the Bible to be wrong why do you spend so much energy trying to “prove” that it is?

And the only reason for “why I’m here” is because you posted a public article and because people asked me a question. Look at the comment thread and the dates in which I made my replies. And I never called you stupid.

                    • I don’t “need” the Bible to be wrong, it just is. Nor does talking about something indicate it is true or false. I could easily reword your comment and ask “If priests think sin is wrong, why do they spend so much time criticising it?”

I looked at your very first comment and even then you began by not discussing my post but accusing me of being blinded by hate. Hardly a valuable contribution.

PLEASEEEE start with Hebrew 5 through 7 which explains that ALL who become Christians are God’s chosen people. It says the Old Covenant is obsolete. How did you miss that??????????

    • alfred

I agree. While the Old Testament was indeed jew-centric, the nt made the word of God inclusive of everyone, nullifying any past anti-gentile prejudice.

    • Jesse Gitau Kimani

It isn’t hate for the Bible, but a just criticism of the book. Religion like love is a cause that make people blind. If you think carefully, and read the Bible properly and without any bias, you will see that the Bible is full of racism. Well, without doubt, there is a God somewhere. But he does not behave like the one we find in the Bible. I really don’t understand what you are talking about by saying that the writer is not considering the context. Ethnic cleansing is racism. That’s what the house of Jacob does. Calling people from other races dogs, is equally an act of racism. Jesus does that.

      • If you can’t see that the author of the post despises the Bible by reading what he writes about it over and over then there’s nothing I can do to help you see the truth.

And by the way, the definition of despise is, “feel contempt or a deep repugnance for. – synonyms: detest, hate, loathe, abhor, execrate, deplore, dislike;”

The rest of your comment has been addressed more than once in this very thread, but I will say again that the “context” shows that the actions you refer to are not racism (i.e. the root cause is the behavior of others, not their race).

        Thanks for respectfully replying.

    • A christian that has read the bible is called an atheist!

    • Jesus had a mission it was to die and be raised from the dead God incarnate for the remission of sin for all who ever and who will ever exist that believe that this is so.. He accomplished this mission it was to finalize the truth that simple truth.. Before that victory over Satan many things were said and stories were told and some ,many are in the bible .. Jesus accomplished this victory over death ..His blood God’s blood cleansed the world.. Men inspired by God wrote the bible stories they are not perfect ..IF God himself would have written them they would be.. In the end God shed his blood that act is the culmination of all else that simple truth .. God wrote that in blood…

    • Rishyruby

Thank you, this is exactly what I was thinking. This article completely ignores the context and just certain verses as well as historical and religious background. For example when he is talking about numbers 25, the men weren’t particularly actually marrying the women but having sexual relations with them that God commanded against. The Jews were Gods chosen people and were supposed to stay pure and dedicated to the true God however these women were inviting the men to idol worship and sacrifice… This was not a matter only concerning race and it’s not racism.

  2. There is no more racist religious book than the OT.

Interesting how you take scripture OUT OF CONTEXT to arrive at the false conclusion that the Bible teaches racism. That amounts to DISHONEST handling of the Word of God and you thus engage in eisegesis, rather than exegesis.

    • Alright then, put those quotes into context. Explain how the forbidding of interracial marriage isn’t really racist in the right context. I await your reply.

      • revjack

Easily done. I guess you are ignorant of the fact that Moses married a black woman, by the way. The issue was not one of race. Rather, they were forbidden to marry because of the abominable religious practices those others embraced, such as sacrificing children in fire to Molech, as well as other abominations.
When people lost sight of God and began to worship the planets, demons, and hero gods, they practiced horrifying acts of cruelty, obscenity, and perversion (unnatural sexual acts). Even sons and daughters were burned in the fire (Leviticus 18:21; 2 Kings 3:26-27; 2 Kings 16:3; 2 Kings 17:17,31; 2 Kings 21:6; 2 Kings 23:10-11; 2 Chron. 28:3; 2 Chron. 33:6). Many of the ancient nations shed human blood before their deities. Molech means “king.” This was the name of the main god of Ammon-called Chemosh by Moabites (see Biblical Facts about False Gods). Molech was worshiped in Egypt as Amun, or Amun-Ra, “the king of gods.” What was supposed to be his likeness was a statue of brass resting on a pedestal or throne of brass-his head crowned and resembling that of a calf, and his arms extended as if to embrace all who came near. Children were his victims. The statue was heated red hot by fire inside and children were shaken over the flames or passed through the hot arms in dedication to it, to receive Molech’s favor. It was believed that all children not so dedicated would die in infancy. Dake Topical Index

Thus God was protecting His people from false religion.

      • Parcour

The forbidding of interracial marriage has more to do with not mixing culture and beliefs. It wasn’t that God never wanted the Israelites to marry because the other people were inferior, they never wanted to mix the culture or religion. Since we are assuming that God is real (or I am assuming we are all assuming), then his desire to keep the Israelites away from the sinful culture of others is understandable.
Besides a lot of interracial marriage happened, although not as many as you may think. It just proves that the law was not as rigid as we’d like to believe, but was flexible enough to allow interracial marriage when it was pure and there would be no strife in beliefs. god defended Moses for marrying a cushite.

  6. The Jewish people were the incubator for the Messiah; and the Messiah is truly the Savior of all people who call upon His name. The “Holy Land” was likewise set apart in order that Jesus be born. This was the ONLY reason for the preferential treatment of the Jewish people and the land of Israel. Without this, there would be no hope for any of mankind.

Your treatment of the subject matter is erroneous and subjective. I have lived on both sides of the issue and “used to be as you now are”. Jesus can change you. HE LIVES TO CHANGE YOU! I dare you to give Him a chance!

I’ll never understand why people have to twist the words of the bible to prove that religion is dumb – just like how Bill Maher’s documentary has been proven to be false. War against nations? Yeah. Racism? No. Using the awfully flawed logic above, we were racists for going to war with Germany in WW2. “BUT BUT BUT THAT’S DIFFERENT!!” No, it’s not.

Come on, guys. Try a little harder than this. This article is just a sad waste of font.😦

  10. “Moral of the story, God doesn’t want you to mix with people other you’re own.”

It is purely erroneous to have such a conclusion after reading Numbers 25:1-13 and Deuteronomy 23:3 which completely speaks about something different. The chapter is centered around idolatry. We know this because in the Old Testament, some nations were associated with idolatry. They CHOSE to worship gods they created rather than the true living God that they rejected.

If you were to say that God doesn’t want us to mix with people who are not of our own kind, then we need to speak of being a Hittite/Heathen versus being a follower of God’s teachings (Child of God). This has nothing to do with race or ethnic grouping. God always compares people based on their belief (spiritual relationship with him God) and NOT on their cultural, ethnic or racial background.

There’s a lesson you need to understand about God’s plan for humanity and how He explains us to be. Reading Hebrews 6:1, you’d find one of the six (6) elementary doctrine (teachings) of Christianity is ‘FAITH IN GOD’. This is the foundation of every human being. To be taught to have FAITH (BELIEF) IN GOD.

So…the distinction/comparison found in Numbers 25 is purely based on people’s relationship with God and NOT people belonging to a certain ethnic group.

Notice 1 John 5:19 (NIV) which says “We know that WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.” Also note 1 Timothy 2:3-4 which says “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants ALL PEOPLE to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” The word ALL means ALL and NOT SOME but ALL!

The danger part about your understanding is that you’ve read the bible totally OUT of context. It doesn’t surprise me because the bible spoke about the ‘spirit of understanding’ (Isaiah 11:2, 1 Corinthians 14:15) which is pivotal to any human being of your caliber. My advise to you is “Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.” – Proverbs 4:5 (NLT)

I conclude by saying that God is Not Racist: http://abutirams.blogspot.com/2013/12/godisnotracist.html

  11. Praise God, you are so very close. You have seen and read God’s voice. Revelation is close. I’m praying for you.

To add a simple note to the conversation… God the Father sent His son, Jesus Christ, to give His adored children a new message. It’s a simple, 2-part update from the old message: 1. Love God with your whole being, 2. Love your neighbor as yourself. (Matt 7)

Pretty simple. No room for racism.

You present a powerful argument however you fail to understand the circumstances of the times. According to most accounts the bible was written over two thousand years ago, society as a whole was completely different. Wars were carried out differently then how they are until recently, back then if you waged war against another tribe, city or state you did not wage war only on the military but the citizens as well. The ancient Romans, Greeks and Persians also carried out mass murders and would wipe out the entire population may it be men, women and children. The survivors of the genocide would always be sold as slaves. Where is your article expressing out rage over that. Has the Italian government ever apologize for the way it conducted wars, don’t forget they turned the torment of saves into a past time. The Coliseum was built for slaves to fight and kill each other as well as wild animals. Has the Italian government ever expressed remorse for the siege of Jerusalem where the city was cut off, there are stories of mothers eating the flesh of their dead children due to hunger. After the walls fell thousand of people were executed and sold into slavery. If you wish to say that the bible is an immoral book then you must also categorize most of the the ancient civilizations that we base our modern society on.Are you aware that the Greeks engaged in mass pedophilia while the boys were sent off to school and the gym. Further more you do pick and choose which lines from the bible you quote, when you say that the bible does not allow any one from any nation to convert. You mention the ban on Amon and Moab but you do not mention why that ban is in place. According to the Bible Amon and Moab are “cousins” of the ancient Israelites are descendants of Lot the relative of Abraham and did not come to their aid while the Israelites were traveling in the desert lacking food and water. For that act they were eventually punished. You also do not quote when gd commands the Jewish people to love the converts.

    • “You present a powerful argument however you fail to understand the circumstances of the times. According to most accounts the bible was written over two thousand years ago, society as a whole was completely different.”

However God doesn’t change. Thats part of being God. If he did change his mind then what good is the Bible? Surely huge chunks would be out of date? Could I just ignore the entire Old Testament because society has changed a huge amount?

“Where is your article expressing out rage over that.”

We are not dealing with some small tribe thousands of years ago, we are dealing with what is supposed to be the chosen people lead by the creator of the universe. So its not being unfair to hold them to a higher standard.

“Has the Italian government ever apologize for the way it conducted wars,”

Why would the Italian government be responsible for the actions of the Roman Empire? They are not the same thing.

“If you wish to say that the bible is an immoral book then you must also categorize most of the the ancient civilizations that we base our modern society on.”

No we do not base modern society on the actions of tribes 2000 years ago. No one says “The Ancient Egyptians used to massacre people so its ok for us to do so”. However people do live their lives directly based on the Bible.

Look you need to realise the very obvious point that the Bible is supposed to be the perfect word of the creator of the universe from which all good things come. So that’s why its held to a higher standard.

  13. Nemoque

Racism is a culturally determined view. What you call racism, God might call survival. In Christ Jesus, God provided the same way to salvation and the same benefits to all people, regardless of their race. The problem was not race, but culture. There are some cultures that are beyond saving, and in order to save a few, God had to remove the “cancer” of these other cultures.

    • Wow, some cultures are a cancer that need to be exterminated? What happened to God loves everyone?

      • ronald

am sorry man u are lost in a way. if u think that God is abundant in love that He can not be a consuming fire then good luck man. He loves everyone but does not mean He can not consume u in wrath. just that He is slow to anger and Abundant in love

  14. Look mate, I’m a fire-breathing atheistic hellion but you’re way off base here. Firstly, as others have mentioned, it simply won’t do to use the UN definition of “racism” over and above, say, a respected dictionary, or even the common understanding of the term. What you’re doing there is picking a definition that suits your agenda, which is to declare the Bible racist even though, sorry, it really isn’t (and as an aside, I think we can all think of things that the UN has done which haven’t exactly displayed great wisdom, right?)

The various conflicts and massacres described in the OT are essentially tribal in nature, and usually between tribes of the same descent. Ammonites, Moabites, Midianites… all “children of Israel”, and of no obvious racial distinction. God raged against these people, and commanded his followers to attack them, for reasons that had to do with their behaviour, their differing religious beliefs, their perceived ideological transgressions and so on, not for any simple racial reasons. This is not to say such behaviour was moral or justified, but it is not racist.

We need to be careful about flinging terms like “racist” around when they don’t strictly apply. To do so is to cause “cry wolf” syndrome; to rob the word of its force. We end up in the unhelpful place where those who attack Zionism are anti-semitic, where those who attack Islam or other religions are racist… ultimately, where anyone who attacks anyone “different” is racist. Or sexist. Or misogynist. We’ve seen far too much of that denaturing of language lately, including, sadly, the “rationalist” and “skeptical” communities, who really should know better. Don’t be a part of that.

    • Czech Riot

Well, you’re accusing him of picking a definition that serves his agenda, but you are yourself trying to define the boudaries of a word that is not your possession… You see:
a : a family, tribe, people, or nation belonging to the same stock
b : a class or kind of people unified by shared interests, habits, or characteristics

So RACE can actually mean different things, and it can mean people “of the same color” but culturally different, which is EXACTLY the distinctions made in the Bible. Different tribes, different habits.
One could also say that there’s only HUMAN RACE, so you can’t be “racist” for disliking japanese or black people (or would japanese be a different race than chinese? or are they all asians? what if it’s an american person, who looks like asian, but is a Muslim?…).
So the thing is, RACE, is a somewhat subjective, relative, vague definition. I am not the one defining race, it’s a word that existed before I was born. It’s in the dictionary. you are the one trying to redefine what the word means. And according to the dictionary, or to some extent to “common sense”, what you see in the Bible may fall into “racism”, which is basically favoring certain groups of people over others. It is implying that some groups of people sharing certain characteristics in common are better than others.

The first thing to understand in this discussion is that there is only one race—the human race. Caucasians, Africans, Asians, Indians, Arabs, and Jews are not different races. Rather, they are different ethnicities of the human race. All human beings have the same physical characteristics (with minor variations, of course). More importantly, all human beings are created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). God loved the world so much that He sent Jesus to lay down His life for us (John 3:16). The “world” obviously includes all ethnic groups.

God does not show partiality or favoritism (Deuteronomy 10:17; Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9), and neither should we. James 2:4 describes those who discriminate as “judges with evil thoughts.” Instead, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves (James 2:8). In the Old Testament, God divided humanity into two “racial” groups: Jews and Gentiles. God’s intent was for the Jews to be a kingdom of priests, ministering to the Gentile nations. Instead, for the most part, the Jews became proud of their status and despised the Gentiles. Jesus Christ put an end to this, destroying the dividing wall of hostility (Ephesians 2:14). All forms of racism, prejudice, and discrimination are affronts to the work of Christ on the cross.

Jesus commands us to love one another as He loves us (John 13:34). If God is impartial and loves us with impartiality, then we need to love others with that same high standard. Jesus teaches in Matthew 25 that whatever we do to the least of His brothers, we do to Him. If we treat a person with contempt, we are mistreating a person created in God’s image; we are hurting somebody whom God loves and for whom Jesus died.

Racism, in varying forms and to various degrees, has been a plague on humanity for thousands of years. Brothers and sisters of all ethnicities, this should not be. Victims of racism, prejudice, and discrimination need to forgive. Ephesians 4:32 declares, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Racists may not deserve your forgiveness, but we deserved God’s forgiveness far less. Those who practice racism, prejudice, and discrimination need to repent. “Present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God” (Romans 6:13). May Galatians 3:28 be completely realized, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

I think you have picked all the least racist bits the old testament is pure racism it is the root of racism.
But since the world has is suffering from chronic hitleritis those who know thought police themselves.

Noah was of Seth line and a red like Adam but noahs wife Naamah inwas as black as the ace of spades she popped out 3 boys ham the black one was said to be cursed as he popped cains blackness shem was a 50 50 as he was olive and Japheth got dads red haired traits.

This is the yoit cause of racism.

    Adam means red in Hebrew
Ham means burnt and Cush means daEverk.

Us dopey Christians havnt got a clue but the shemites Arabs and Jews of shem they know a lot including the name of noahs wife.
Us dopey Christians say Cain killed Abel and God toured Cain or some rubbish like that but the shem boys have a lot better explanation when the lights went in the garden of Eden the mice came out to play or smart lizards more to the point poor old Eve thought it was Adam doing a bit of downstairs work but it turned out to be a horny serpent and Cain was born.
I’m making light of it but this is how racism began that through naamah we all have lizard dna in us but the blacks got the most.

hmmmmmmmm, so sad that humanity has come to the point people feel God should have thought about there personal view. Men u criticize or you don’t has no effect on God. he is still God. we argue tis kind of things cos we are still in the flesh. you pick up the bible thinking its getting more than it deserve. I feel you don’t understand the bible and so sad cos it written in normal language for you to understand. but thank God that the same book u criticize say some thing lovely that for some the word of the Lord is foolish and that is exactly what u did u criticize cos u think your creator should have never said this or that. men may the Lord have mercy on you. you see its te same God but different view about him. may God help u that u don’t loss your soul to death because of the way u view His word on these issue. but just you know, God is God u view Him like this cos u are a man with limitations don’t allow your limitations view God in what He is not. the UN is filled with men that most of them don’t know who God is so don’t picked up their standard and think God was been racist. if He was then the gentiles will never have salvation through His blood today it would have been only for the Jews. so mister go back and study that portion of the bible again and ask the Holy Spirit for its interpretation not your interpretation cos your interpretation is WRONG. I pray that the God of heaven will not allow go in ignorance.

  26. Jake

    You’re not very well studied.

  27. what a hypocrite!, never debate a fool who know nothing about the bible

  28. All of you are idiots…and the man who wrote this article is clearly more educated than any of you…the bible is honestly the worst text I have ever read as far as teaching morality and generating a capable and amiable persona…the idea of god has caused billions of atrocities across human cultures (wars, genocides, slavery) and you people single handedly hold human society back intellectually with all of this BS…have fun at church this sunday pretending to “be a good person), I’ll be reading the Republic and actually bettering myself; then afterwards I’ll go down to the local boys and girls club (charity/enrichment center for under privileged children) and actually make a difference in the world…

    • Toni

You have used one of the most obvious fallacies: ad hominem. Is there any knowledgeable content in your retort that can be seen as reputable?

      • Toni

Why can’t being a believer in a God overlap with “bettering myself; then afterwards I’ll go down to the local boys and girls club (charity/enrichment center for under privileged children) and actually make a difference in the world…”? I go to church while feeding the hungry, going to school for my educational betterment, and clocking over hours of volunteerism to help make a difference in the world. Can you discredit this?

  29. To the author: Thank you for writing this. I am using it in my own personal document. (Email me at LillithSnake@gmail.com if you’d like to further discuss this) and I just wanted you to know that I found this very helpful. Five stars, two thumbs up, ten out of ten.

Mr. Neilson has provided plenty of evidence, undisputable at that, to prove his point. I am neither Christian or Atheist, due to the fact that I cannot believe in something without viable proof. If you choose to believe, that is great. But don’t discount concrete facts and undisputable evidence. My goodness people, has religion truly blinded you this much? I’m actually unbiased on the topic, however, from a argumentative standpoint Mr. Neilson has provided a great deal of evidence for his argument, while those who oppose his views have yet to submit a logical, rational argument. Mr. Neilson isn’t even stressing his opinion; he is just putting forward the facts.

    • Toni

I like that he provided evidence; however, his facts are incomplete and therefore present a discriminated basis of argument for racism in the Bible. You cannot parse one part of something while including the other and expect everyone with a more complete knowledge of the topic to fully accept his fact. I am vehemently against religion, I have an experiential belief in the living God; there’s an institution of man that can easily be refuted using logic and then there’s a pure, empirically verified existence of God that cannot be discredited using fact. Your values do not include God whereas mine does, are your values wrong? Are my values wrong? If so, how can you invalidate my experience? How can I confute your lack thereof?

  31. Tammie A

I have not read all the above statements other than the 1st one written. I would like to make a comment on your statement, Robert, you said about God telling his chosen people to destroy others. You really need to study why God told his people to destroy them. God is love and God is full of grace. Although God is loving and merciful, he is also just. God does not allow evil to continue unchecked. The command to destroy these nations were both a judgment and a safety measure Deut 9: 4-6. Until the end evil will be on this earth. God then will then judge us all. Get to know him Robert, and why he did and does what he does. He does love all, he made us all, but sin no matter how big or small, we have to learn from our mistakes so we will be better prepared for the future. Just read, read and study, study. Do not stop learning. Be ready!!!!

TAMMIE and the rest of you lost souls!!!!
Deu 28/Luke 21:24 (curse upon the children of Israel) There’s one group of special people (EX 1:13) the bible speak of that lives here in America who’s four fathers arrived here on ships in bondage, enslaved for 400 yrs, had to develop the land but didn’t reap the fruit, whose family’s were separated, with no petty on there young or old. Sounds familiar?? Rev 3:9 explains in detail the synagogue of Satan, WHICH SAY THEY ARE JEWS BUT ARE NOT! And you are truly blind “GENTILES” if you don’t realize a curse is on you and your seeds when you have the lowest sperm count of all men and your offspring’s are are being born deformed at a alarming rate but you have to know because you go through extreme measures to hide those kids who you are ashamed of “YOUR OWN”.! For everyone wondering why Ya wasn’t to fond of Esau? Read your bible. Yeshua knew what your people would do his. You people still lying but it’s no denying, black so called Americans are the true lost tribe of Judah. Don’t take my word, do your home work and for terminologies that you don’t understand or unsure, please refer to Strong’s dictionary!!!

  32. Hi! Robert! I have studied religions. They are a complete waste of time. Nothing, to talk about here. However, I think there is a God. With my finite mind, like everyone else(the finite mind that is). The Infinite can’t never be understood. I guess there are some people, who think there is no Infinite. If one does not think there is an Infinite. What else can I say? Do I know anything for sure? No! But, neither does anyone else! 🙂

  33. fred

lol this is bullshit, the Moabites were descendants of Lot, not a different race.

  34. Toni

You did not mention two areas in the Bible where God was clearly against racism and demonstrated love for everyone: Miriam being stricken with leprosy after speaking against the marriage of Moses to an Ethiopian (Cushite, “black”) woman in Numbers 12:1-9 and that every nation, people, tongue, and kindred were permitted to stand before the throne of God without being cast out in Revelation 7:9. What say you concerning these examples of the goodness of God to every man?

because it is memorized from COVER TO COVER FROM DAY ONE all of the muslims Know parts of the Qur’an but more than 13 million muslims know the whole Qur’an by heart. Most of them finish learning the Quran by heart when they are between 6-15 years old. This learning is so perfect that if you call a Muslim Hafiz (memorizer of the Qur’an from USA) and another from Indonesia or for that matter, any other part of the world, they would not differ on even one letter! and each year in the month of Ramadan we reviseing the Qur’an our Imam recites in the front not from the book by from memorie if he makes mistake of even one letter people from behind will correct him, because Arabic is very dilicate with one letter can change the whole meaning of the word or even the whole vers. If all the Qur’ans are thrown into sea and none remains, Muslims can reproduce the Qur’an in its true form in a matter of days.
Even if we like to change it according our desire like all the other books are changed we cant, how can we change nearly 14 million Muslims heart?

CHRISTIAN WILL ALSO SAY JESUS NEVER COMITED SIN OR COVETING LET SEE WHAT BIBLE SAYS IN: …(Mark 1:12-13), he “suffered” (Hebrews 2:17-18) (Luke 4:5-6, James 1:13-15) in him, Bible prohibits coveting (Romans 7:7-8, 13:9, Micah 2:1-2, Exodus 20:17, Deuteronomy 5:21, Acts 20:32-35). Yet, Jesus clearly coveted SEE (Luke 4:5-6), Bible claims that satan led Jesus and tempted him (Mark 1:12-13, Luke 4:1-2, Luke 4:5-6), The Bible says that GOD Almighty can not be tempted by satan (James 1:13-15)! Yet, Jesus got tempted and he coveted, and he was between GOD AND SATAN FOR 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS.
1- Prophet Jeremiah called GOD Almighty a “deceiver”. 2- Prophet Solomon worshiped idols. 3- Prophet Jesus Christ had evil desires. 4- Prophet Moses smashed GOD Almighty’s Tablets to the ground. 5- Job cursed the day he was born, therefore objecting to the Will of GOD Almighty. 6- King David committed coveting, murder and adultery. and many more AT http://www.answering-christianity.com/satanic_verses.htm

  36. BIBLICAL PROPHECIES ON THE ADVENT OF MUHAMMAD (Peace be upon him) The clash between Muslims, Christians, and Jews resembles the feud that exists between siblings. They all come from the same father (Abraham) and follow the same prophets of the same God, yet ironically the true enemies of God have succeeded in dividing us by forcing us to focus on our differences rather than our staggering similarities. For more than fourteen centuries, scholars from Judaism, Christianity and Islam have been discussing whether or not the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) could have indeed been a true prophet from the One True God. Was he the long awaited “Messiah” the Jews have been waiting for so many centuries? Was he the unlettered Prophet prophesied in the Old Testament? Check online ((The absolute truth about Muhammad in the bible: Rabbis who acknowledging the fact and…PART1)) (Top 10 Reasons Why Jesus is not God – Joshua Evans – Ex Christian Scholar), (Top 10 Reasons Why The Trinity Is Invalid – Dr. Lauren) (Oldest Bible found in Palestine – Jesus was a servant of God and not God himself – Trinity False), (Jesus called God Allah and he prayed to Allah like a muslim),(O Christians!Give Just One Evidence from the Bible to theTRINITY), (Harvard Bible Professor Embraced Islam), (A New Testament scholar proves what the Quran said about the bible), (DOSE BIBLE EXIST IN ORIGINAL FORM YUSUF ESTES), (YUSUF ESTES EX CHRISTIAN PRIEST AND PREACHER ENTRE ISLAM), (Christian takes down in tears after an answer by Sheikh Yusuf Estes), (Errors in the Bible- Dr. Zakir Naik),(How Christianity Led Me to Islam – Musa Cerantonio),(Top American Surgeon embraced Islam “I was trying very hard to be a Christian’’),(Jewish Rabbi Speaks On Ishmael),(Christian accepts Islam after challenging Zakir Naik), (How the Bible Led Me to Islam), (In the hands of the Taliban – Yvonne Ridley – 1/9), (Women in Islam Hidden Pearls), (MA LCOLM X LETTER FR MECCA),(JESUS VS PAUL 1 SHOCKING…MUST WATCH),(Jesus(PBUH) was not die on the Cross according to the Bible) “If Christ be not risen from the dead, then our preaching is vain, and your faith is also vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:14) Modern Christianity is founded upon the 4th century Roman doctrine that Paul was the only one who knew the real Jesus, and his disciples were too Jewish to understand his teachings.  With the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls we now know that the vast majority of Gentiles were too Pagan to comprehend the true teachings of Jesus, and too heathen to comprehend the very Spiritually founded Gnostic teachings of Paul.  Which means that the doctrine of faith that was taught by Paul (see Paul), has absolutely nothing to do with the static and complacent faith of the Christian Church which evolved out of Pagan Rome.   As a tax collector, Matthew could only have become Torah observant and what has been described as ultra-Jewish, under the direct influence of his teacher and Master Jesus (Pbuh). Yet, because the Gentiles were too heathen to comprehend the difference between observing the Torah/Law from a Spiritual perspective in the manner of the Essene/Ebionites who were of the Nazirene and the ritual observance of the written word in the manner of the carnal Jewish sects of the Pharisees, the Gentile converts were very quickly consumed and overcome by the Paganism of the Roman Empire and the Church of Constantine.    Albert Schweitzer, winner of the 1952 Nobel Peace Prize, has been called “one of the greatest Christians of his time.” He was a philosopher, physician, musician, clergyman, missionary, and theologian. In his The Quest for the Historical Jesus and his Mysticism of Paul he writes:  “Paul….did not desire to know Christ….Paul shows us with what complete indifference the earthly life of Jesus was regarded….What is the significance for our faith and for our religious life, the fact that the Gospel of Paul is different from the Gospel of Jesus?….The attitude which Paul himself takes up towards the Gospel of Jesus is that he does not repeat it in the words of Jesus, and does not appeal to its authority….The fateful thing is that the Greek, the Catholic, and the Protestant theologies all contain the Gospel of Paul in a form which does not continue the Gospel of Jesus, but displaces it.”  The great theologian Soren Kierkegaard, writing in The Journals, echoes the above sentiment:  “In the teachings of Christ, religion is completely present tense: Jesus is the prototype and our task is to imitate him, become a disciple. But then through Paul came a basic alteration. Paul draws attention away from imitating Christ and fixes attention on the death of Christ The Atoner. What Martin Luther. in his reformation, failed to realize is that even before Catholicism, Christianity had become degenerate at the hands of Paul. Paul made Christianity the religion of Paul, not of Christ Paul threw the Christianity of Christ away, completely turning it upside down. making it just the opposite of the original proclamation of Christ” The brilliant theologian Ernest Renan, in his book Saint Paul, wrote:  “True Christianity, which will last forever, comes from the gospel words of Christ not from the epistles of Paul. The writings of Paul have been a danger and a hidden rock. the causes of the principal defects of Christian theology.” The Biblical prophecies on the advent of the Prophet Muhammad are evidence of the truth of Islam for people who believe in the Bible. Allah (God Almighty) says in Glorious Qur’an: Say (O Muhammad Pbuh): “We believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Yaqoob (Jacob) and Al- Asbat (the twelve sons of Yaqoob (Jacob)) and what was given to Moosa (Moses), Iesa (Jesus) and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allah) we have submitted (Muslims) in Islam (Peace).”(Al-Qur’an 3:84), Do they seek other than the religion of Allah (the true Islamic Monotheism worshipping none but Allah Alone), while to Him submitted all creatures in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly. And to Him shall they all be returned.(Al-Qur’an 3:83), Or say you that Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Yaqoob (Jacob) and Al- Asbat (the twelve sons of Yaqoob (Jacob)) were Jews or Christians? Say, “Do you know better or does Allah (knows better… that they all were Muslims)? And who is more unjust than he who conceals the testimony (i.e. to believe in Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him when he comes, written in their Books he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.”(Al-Qur’an 2:140), “And (remember) when Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: “O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah unto you confirming the Taurat ((Torah) which came)before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed . But when he (Ahmed i.e. Muhammad (Pbuh)) came to them with clear proofs, they said: “This is plain magic.” And who does more wrong than the one who invents a lie against Allah, while he is being invited to Islam? And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimoon (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers) folk. They intend to put out the Light of Allah (i.e. the religion of Islam, this Quran, and Prophet Muhammad Pbuh)) with their mouths. But Allah will complete His Light even though the disbelievers hate (it). He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad Pbuh)) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islamic Monotheism) to make it victorious over all (other) religions even though the Mushrikoon (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammad Pbuh)) hate (it). (Al-Qur’an 61:6,7,8,9) Let us examine the passage describing the roots of the next prophet: “We read ‘And the Gentiles shall come to thy light’, and that means this Holy Prophet would arise among the Gentiles and his Light would fill his place where the nations would come and visit”. [Isaiah 60:3] The Children of Israel have always believed the prophethood must stay within the bloodline of the Twelve Children of Israel (starting from the children of Jacob, who is the son of Isaac). Anyone who is not of the Children of Israel is known to the Jews as a “Gentile.” The verse above says there will be an exception of the coming Prophet who will not be from the Children of Israel, but rather a Gentile. Muhammad was a gentile because he came from the lineage of Ismael, making him an extraordinary gentile of high stature: “And as for Ishmael (son of Abraham), I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, I will make him a great nation”. [Genesis 17:20] Ishmael was the ancestor of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) through Kedar, the second son of Ismael. The lineage of Muhammad (pbuh) is even further illustrated by the Bible: Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham: And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to *their nations. [Genesis 25:12-16] Next thing is that the Bible paints the scenario in which the Divine Revelations decends on the prophesized prophet: “And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned”. [Isaiah 29:12] What is remarkable is that the very first word of the Qur’an revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) was READ! He told Angel Gabriel that he cannot read. The angel again told him to READ! He says again to the angel that he cannot read. And a third time the angel told him: READ! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists) (Al-Qur’an 96:1), “Those who follow the Apostle, the unlettered Prophet, Whom they find mentioned in their own Scriptures, in the Torah and the Gospel”. (Al-Qur’an: 7:157). The Bible describes the coming prophet so that he can be recognized: in [Deuteronomy 18:18] I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. Muhammad (Pbuh) is from among the brethren of Moses (Pbuh). Arabs are brethren of Jew Abraham (Pbuh) had two sons Ismael and Isaac (Pbut). The Arabs are the descendants of Ismael (PBUH) and the Jews are the descendants of Isaac (PBUH) brethren of Jocob is Ismael. This means that whoever believes in the Bible must believe in what this prophet says, and this prophet is the Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh). The claim of Islam is that the Qur’an is the literal, unchanged word of God. So as the Bible foretold, the words of God (The Glorious Quran) were truly put into Muhammad’s (Pbuh) mouth. God sent the Angel Gabriel to teach Muhammad (Pbuh) the exact words of God (Al- Qur’an) and asked him to dictate them to the people as he heard them. The words are therefore not his own. They did not come from his own thoughts. Muhammad (Pbuh) was unlettered, but were put into his mouth by the Angel Gabriel. During the life time of Muhammad (Pbuh) and under his supervision, these words were then memorized and written by his companions. It’s common knowledge that chapters of the Qur’an starts with “Bismi Allahi Rahmani Raheem”, which means “In the Name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Compassionate.” The Bible foretold of this prophecy: “I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name”. [Deuteronomy 18:20] When the Bible says the Prophet will “speak in my name,” this is what Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) has done by saying “Bismi Allahi Rahmani Raheem” before reciting the words of God (the Qur’an). It was required of him and still is today when Muslims recite any part of the Qur’an. The above proofs are very explicit without the need for further translations. However, there is a wealth of truth that exists in the original languages of the Bible and Torah that were intentionally or ignorantly lost in translation: Here is the exact Hebrew text in case you can read Hebrew. Which Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) is mentioned by name In the Hebrew Torah though, it exactly reads like this: Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem. “His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem”. [Songs of Solomon 5:16] In the English translation, the conquistadors have even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) as “altogether lovely”, which is the true translation of the name “Muhammad”. Was it out of malice or ignorance that a person’s name was translated from Hebrew to English. Never would you translate a name to another language because that is someone’s name. In the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) still exists today! Don’t take my word for it, go to your library and pick up a transliteration of the Hebrew Torah. It is worth noting that in the Hebrew language “im” is added for respect. Similarely im is added after the name of Prophet(Muhammad Pbuh). Islamic Philosophy – Is Muhammad the Counselor from John 14:16?
Muslims also believe the promised Counselor or Comforter in the following New Testament verse is Muhammad rather than the Holy Spirit: “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever” (John 14:16). In a footnote to (Qur’an 3:81) That argument is: You (People of the Book) are bound by your own oaths, sworn solemnly in the presence of your own Prophets. And the rise of the Arab nation in Isaiah, xlii. 11, for Kedar was a son of Ismail and the name is used for the Arab nation: in the New Testament as it now exists, Muhammad is foretold in the Gospel of St. John, xiv. 16, xv. 26, and xvi.7: the future Comforter cannot be the Holy Spirit as understood by Christians, because the Holy Spirit already was present helping and guiding Jesus. The Greek word translated ‘Comforter’ is ‘Paraclete’, which is literal translation of ‘Muhammad’ or ‘Ahmad’. . . . Why did Jesus use the word “Paraclete” when he predicted the coming of the Comforter after him? According to the Aramaic Bible Society, the word “Paraclete” back then meant the “Praised One”.  Muhammad’s name was “Ahmed”.  Both Muhammad and Ahmed in Arabic mean “The Honored One” or the “Praised One”. The word “Messiah” comes from the Arabic and Hebrew word masaha, which means to rub, to massage, to anoint. The religious significance is “the one who is anointed” -priests and kings were anointed in consecration to their offices. Messiah translated Christ does not mean God. Even the heathen Cyrus is called “Christ” in the Bible, (Isaiah 45:1) Jesus (Pbuh) said : “Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away, for if I go not away the -Comforter will not come unto you; (John 16:7) .  “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.   He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. (John 16:12-14). John 14:26 says: that the Holy Ghost is the Comforter. If this is the Holy Ghost or Holy spirit which new thing the Holy Spirit brought to us while Muhammad (Pbuh) came with New Revelation (The Glorious Quran which more the 1000 verses in the Quran also speak about scientific facts which is discovered only recently) and the New Law. The claim is contrary to the plain and unambiguous words of (John 16:7), wherein Jesus (Pbuh) says that his going away, i.e., the death of Jesus is inevitably necessary of the coming of the Comforter. The New Testament says that John was filled with the Holy Ghost even before he was born (Luke 1:14), and speaks of Jesus (Pbuh) himself as receiving the Holy Ghost in the form of a dove (Matthew 3:16) Thus, the Holy Ghost was wont to visit men before Jesus (Pbuh) as well as in his own time. To what, then is the reference in the words, “If I go not away the Comforter will not come unto you.” Surely not to the Holy Ghost; for it is a matter of common knowledge that the Holy Ghost was co-existing with Jesus (Pbuh), and it would be sacrilegious to think for a moment that Jesus (Pbuh) was without the Holy Ghost. So, the Comforter was someone other than the Holy Ghost. This also supports our assertion that there have been many interpolations in the existing Christian Bible. It is quite obvious that the Comforter cannot be the Holy Ghost, as Jesus (Pbuh) uses the pronoun “he” instead of “it” in connection with the Comforter. Comforter Was To Bring Complete Teachings According to the prophecy: Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) was the only prophet who claimed to have brought the complete teachings through the Glorious Quran. “The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; (Deuteronomy 18:15), If we ask any Christians: “To whom does this prophecy refer?” If is not about Muhammad (Pbuh) Without the slightest hesitation they will answer: “JESUS!” “Ok” then Jesus (Pbuh) must be a Prophet and therefore is not son of God nor A God, “And why Jesus?… his name is not even mentioned here.” You see the most important words of this prophecy are ‘SOOS JY IS’ (like unto thee), – LIKE YOU – like Moses, and Jesus is like Moses. Question: “In which way is Jesus like Moses?” Answer: “In the first place Moses was a JEW and Jesus was also a JEW; secondly, Moses was a PROPHET and Jesus was also a PROPHET – therefore Jesus is like Moses and that is exactly what God had foretold Moses – “SOOS JY IS”. “If these are the only two criteria for discovering a candidate for this prophecy of Deuteronomy 18:18, then in that case the criteria could fit any one of the following Biblical personages after Moses:- (Solomon, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Malachi, John the Baptist etc.,) because they were also ALL “Jews” as well as “Prophets”. Why should we not apply this prophecy to any one of these Prophets, and why only to Jesus? Why should we make fish of one and fowl of another?” To conclude in building the bridge between Muslims, Christians, and Jews, I would like to quell instigations created by war elites and the media to divide us. Contrary to common belief, Muslims greatly revere the prophets and books of Christians and Jews. As a matter of fact, Moses and Jesus (Pbut) are more referred to in the Qur’an than Muhammad (Pbuh)! We even have CH3 Imran father of Mary & CH19 called (Mary) Allah repeatedly points out the bond between the People of the Scriptures: Allah hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture with truth, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, as Allah revealed the Torah and the Gospel. [Qur’an 3:3] This Qur’an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it and a fuller explanation of the Book wherein there is no doubt from the Lord of the Worlds. Islam is THE ONLY RELIGION THAT not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gotama Buddha, Sikhism was named after Guru Nanak blend of Islam and Hinduism or a sect of Hinduism, Confucianism after Confucius, and Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism after the tribe of Judah and Hinduism after the Hindus. Islam is the true religion of “Allah” and as such, its name represents the central principle of Allah’s “God’s” religion; the total submission to the will of Allah “God”. The Arabic word “Islam” means the submission or surrender of one’s will to the only true god worthy of worship “Allah” and anyone who does so is termed a “Muslim”, The word also implies “peace” which is the natural consequence of total submission to the will of Allah. Hence, it was not a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) I in Arabia in the seventh century, but only the true religion of Allah re-expressed in its final form.

Islam is the religion which was given to Adam, the first man and the first prophet of Allah, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by Allah to mankind. The name of God’s religion lslam was not decided upon by later generations of man. It was chosen by Allah Himself and clearly mentioned in His final revelation to man. In the final book of divine revelation, the Qur’aan, Allah states the following:
“This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion”. (Soorah Al-Maa’idah 5:3)
“If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah (God) never will It be accepted of Him” (Soorah Aal’imraan 3:85)
“Abraham was not a Jew nor Christian; but an upright Muslim. (Submitted)” (Soorah Aal’imraan 3:67)

Nowhere in the Bible will you find Allah saying to Prophet Moses’ people or their descendants that their religion is Judaism, nor to the followers of Christ that their religion is Christianity. In fact, Christ was not even his name, nor was it Jesus! The name “Christ” comes from the Greek word Christos which means the annointed. That is, Christ is a Greek translation of the Hebrew title “Messiah”. The name “Jesus” on the other hand, is a latinized version of the Hebrew name Esau.
The basic message of Allah’s divine religion, Islam is the worship of Allah alone and the avoidance of worship directed to any person, place or thing other than Allah.Since everything other than Allah, the Creator of all things, is Allah’s creation; it may be said that Islam, in essence calls man away from the worship of creation and invites him to worship only its Creator. He is the only one deserving man’s worship as it is only by His will that prayers are answered. If man prays to a tree and his prayers are answered, it was not the tree which answered his prayers but Allah who allowed the circumstances prayed for to take place. One might say, “That is obvious,” however, to tree-worshippers it might not be. Similarly, prayers to Jesus, Buddha, or Krishna, to Saint Christopher, or Saint Jude or even to Muhammad, are not answered by them but are answered by Allah. Jesus did not tell his followers to worship him but to worship Allah. As the Qur’aan states:

“And behold Allah will say: “O Jesus the son of Mary Did you say to men, Worship me and my mother as gods besides Allah He will say-“Glory to you I could never say what I had no right (to say’)” (Soorah Al-Maa’idah- 5:116)

Well you have completely misunderstood the Bible. God was indeed telling them to slaughter these tribes because they would become the ruling establishment. The Canaan- ites are the ones whom God cursed from the begining because of their love of money and sorcery. They would go on to form the banking system that has enslaved us to this day and thrown the world into endless wars and deception. They also control the media.

All these tribes would become the Illuminati and God knew their strongholds would be difficult to conquer in the future so He wanted them utterly wiped out for good reason. The Israelites were the only people who obeyed God and did His will. The others worshipped idols and consorted with demons and spirits which have created tyrannies on earth. They practised sodomy, paedophilia and child sacrifice much like today with the BBC scandals and God forbade His people from marrying into their tribes for good reason. All these Black Nobility families and aristocracy, the banking cartels and corporate mafia and secret societies are descendants of these cursed tribes. The ruling elites are the fallen angels.

God is against them all. He wanted Satan’s spawn, the serpent seedlines utterly destroyed but the Israelites fell into idolatry and got drunk with the lusts if this world. They didn’t finish their work which explains why we are all in trouble now with the New World Order pending which will throw this world into utter darkness and despair. But ultimately they will be be defeated by the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who will establish His Kingdom here on earth and the Illuminati won’t prevail against it.

  40. The Darkness and Evil of Christianity, Islam, and all religions is STOPPED by exposing what they believe in….One summer I was driving across the South, coast to coast and began listening to religious radio stations….because nothing else was on. I became extremely concerned when I heard so many Christians call in to the radio stations stating that Atheists should be “killed.” One Christian cited Luke 19:27, where Jesus says: Kill my enemies before me….meaning us Atheists. This is what is IN the minds of Christians when they think we aren’t listening to them…there is no Christian Love…its just a mask they hide behind. The United States was founded on Atheism…by the Functional Atheist Founders of the US who REMOVED all religious laws. Why? Because the educated Founders of the US knew that Christianity and religion causes hysteria, and is anti logic, anti reason, and in the end is an excuse to turn people into slaves of an imaginary god…who cannot speak for its self. When preachers and priests say: “god said…:” ask yourself how such persons were “appointed” to speak for an imaginary god. Let us keep the US free from religion Religions of all kinds have been the greatest tragedy of human kind..And…

THIS IS WHY WE ATHEISTS DON’T BELIEVE IN YOUR IMAGINARY GOD: Slavery in the Bible (Please note that the Will of god, as described in the bible is ILLEGAL AND AGAINST ALL HUMAN RIGHTS)..

Except for murder, slavery has got to be one of the most immoral things a person can do. Yet slavery is rampant throughout the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments. The Bible clearly approves of slavery in many passages, and it goes so far as to tell how to obtain slaves, how hard you can beat them, and when you can have sex with the female slaves.

Many Jews and Christians will try to ignore the moral problems of slavery by saying that these slaves were actually servants or indentured servants. Many translations of the Bible use the word “servant”, “bondservant”, or “manservant” instead of “slave” to make the Bible seem less immoral than it really is. While many slaves may have worked as household servants, that doesn’t mean that they were not slaves who were bought, sold, and treated worse than livestock.

The following passage shows that slaves are clearly property to be bought and sold like livestock.

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

The following passage describes how the Hebrew slaves are to be treated.

If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him. If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.’ If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever. (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)

Notice how they can get a male Hebrew slave to become a permanent slave by keeping his wife and children hostage until he says he wants to become a permanent slave. What kind of family values are these?

The following passage describes the sickening practice of sex slavery. How can anyone think it is moral to sell your own daughter as a sex slave?

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl’s owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

So these are the Bible family values! A man can buy as many sex slaves as he wants as long as he feeds them, clothes them, and screws them!

What does the Bible say about beating slaves? It says you can beat both male and female slaves with a rod so hard that as long as they don’t die right away you are cleared of any wrong doing.

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

You would think that Jesus and the New Testament would have a different view of slavery, but slavery is still approved of in the New Testament, as the following passages show.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

In the following parable, Jesus clearly approves of beating slaves even if they didn’t know they were doing anything wrong.

The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. “But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given.” (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)

MURDER IN THE BIBLE: Murder in the Bible

The act of murder is rampant in the Bible. In much of the Bible, especially the Old Testament, there are laws that command that people be killed for absurd reasons such as working on the Sabbath, being gay, cursing your parents, or not being a virgin on your wedding night. In addition to these crazy and immoral laws, there are plenty of examples of God’s irrationality by his direct killing of many people for reasons that defy any rational explanation such as killing children who make fun of bald people, and the killing of a man who tried to keep the ark of God from falling during transport. There are also countless examples of mass murders commanded by God, including the murder of women, infants, and children.

The following passages are a very small percentage of the total passages approving of murder in the Bible. They are divided here into three parts: 1) Capital Punishment Crimes, 2) God’s Murders for Stupid Reasons, 3) Murdering Children, and 4) Miscellaneous Murders. This list is long, but it barely scratches the surface of all the murders approved of in the Bible.

    1) Capital Punishment Crimes:

Kill People Who Don’t Listen to Priests
Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

    Kill Witches
You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB)

    Kill Homosexuals
“If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives.” (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

    Kill Fortunetellers
A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)

    Death for Hitting Dad
Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)

    Death for Cursing Parents
    1) If one curses his father or mother, his lamp will go out at the coming of darkness. (Proverbs 20:20 NAB)
    2) All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)

    Death for Adultery
If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

    Death for Fornication
A priest’s daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)

Death to Followers of Other Religions
Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

    Kill Nonbelievers
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

    Kill False Prophets
If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, “You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord.” When he prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall thrust him through. (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)

Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. “The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him.” (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night
But if this charge is true (that she wasn’t a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father’s house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)

    Kill Followers of Other Religions.
    1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

    2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)

    Death for Blasphemy
One day a man who had an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father got into a fight with one of the Israelite men. During the fight, this son of an Israelite woman blasphemed the LORD’s name. So the man was brought to Moses for judgment. His mother’s name was Shelomith. She was the daughter of Dibri of the tribe of Dan. They put the man in custody until the LORD’s will in the matter should become clear. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and tell all those who heard him to lay their hands on his head. Then let the entire community stone him to death. Say to the people of Israel: Those who blaspheme God will suffer the consequences of their guilt and be punished. Anyone who blasphemes the LORD’s name must be stoned to death by the whole community of Israel. Any Israelite or foreigner among you who blasphemes the LORD’s name will surely die. (Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT)

    Kill False Prophets
    1) Suppose there are prophets among you, or those who have dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles, and the predicted signs or miracles take place. If the prophets then say, ‘Come, let us worship the gods of foreign nations,’ do not listen to them. The LORD your God is testing you to see if you love him with all your heart and soul. Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him. The false prophets or dreamers who try to lead you astray must be put to death, for they encourage rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of slavery in the land of Egypt. Since they try to keep you from following the LORD your God, you must execute them to remove the evil from among you. (Deuteronomy 13:1-5 NLT)

    2) But any prophet who claims to give a message from another god or who falsely claims to speak for me must die.’ You may wonder, ‘How will we know whether the prophecy is from the LORD or not?’ If the prophet predicts something in the LORD’s name and it does not happen, the LORD did not give the message. That prophet has spoken on his own and need not be feared. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22 NLT)

    Infidels and Gays Should Die
So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. They are fully aware of God’s death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (Romans 1:24-32 NLT)

Kill Anyone who Approaches the Tabernacle
For the LORD had said to Moses, ‘Exempt the tribe of Levi from the census; do not include them when you count the rest of the Israelites. You must put the Levites in charge of the Tabernacle of the Covenant, along with its furnishings and equipment. They must carry the Tabernacle and its equipment as you travel, and they must care for it and camp around it. Whenever the Tabernacle is moved, the Levites will take it down and set it up again. Anyone else who goes too near the Tabernacle will be executed.’ (Numbers 1:48-51 NLT)

Kill People for Working on the Sabbath
The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: ‘Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.’ (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)

    2) God’s Murders for Stupid Reasons:

    Kill Brats
From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. “Go up baldhead,” they shouted, “go up baldhead!” The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces. (2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB)

    God Kills the Curious
And he smote of the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of Jehovah, he smote of the people seventy men, `and’ fifty thousand men; and the people mourned, because Jehovah had smitten the people with a great slaughter. And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before Jehovah, this holy God? and to whom shall he go up from us? (1Samuel 6:19-20 ASV)

    Killed by a Lion
Meanwhile, the LORD instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man, “Strike me!” But the man refused to strike the prophet. Then the prophet told him, “Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, a lion will kill you as soon as you leave me.” And sure enough, when he had gone, a lion attacked and killed him. (1 Kings 20:35-36 NLT)

    Killing the Good Samaritan
The ark of God was placed on a new cart and taken away from the house of Abinadab on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab guided the cart, with Ahio walking before it, while David and all the Israelites made merry before the Lord with all their strength, with singing and with citharas, harps, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals.
When they came to the threshing floor of Nodan, Uzzah reached out his hand to the ark of God to steady it, for the oxen were making it tip. But the Lord was angry with Uzzah; God struck him on that spot, and he died there before God. (2 Samuel 6:3-7 NAB)

    3) Murdering Children

    Kill Sons of Sinners
Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)

    God Will Kill Children
The glory of Israel will fly away like a bird, for your children will die at birth or perish in the womb or never even be conceived. Even if your children do survive to grow up, I will take them from you. It will be a terrible day when I turn away and leave you alone. I have watched Israel become as beautiful and pleasant as Tyre. But now Israel will bring out her children to be slaughtered.” O LORD, what should I request for your people? I will ask for wombs that don’t give birth and breasts that give no milk. The LORD says, “All their wickedness began at Gilgal; there I began to hate them. I will drive them from my land because of their evil actions. I will love them no more because all their leaders are rebels. The people of Israel are stricken. Their roots are dried up; they will bear no more fruit. And if they give birth, I will slaughter their beloved children.” (Hosea 9:11-16 NLT)

    Kill Men, Women, and Children
“Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, “Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple.” So they began by killing the seventy leaders. “Defile the Temple!” the LORD commanded. “Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!” So they went throughout the city and did as they were told.” (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)

God Kills all the First Born of Egypt
And at midnight the LORD killed all the firstborn sons in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn son of the captive in the dungeon. Even the firstborn of their livestock were killed. Pharaoh and his officials and all the people of Egypt woke up during the night, and loud wailing was heard throughout the land of Egypt. There was not a single house where someone had not died. (Exodus 12:29-30 NLT)

Kill Old Men and Young Women
“You are my battle-ax and sword,” says the LORD. “With you I will shatter nations and destroy many kingdoms. With you I will shatter armies, destroying the horse and rider, the chariot and charioteer. With you I will shatter men and women, old people and children, young men and maidens. With you I will shatter shepherds and flocks, farmers and oxen, captains and rulers. “As you watch, I will repay Babylon and the people of Babylonia for all the wrong they have done to my people in Jerusalem,” says the LORD. “Look, O mighty mountain, destroyer of the earth! I am your enemy,” says the LORD. “I will raise my fist against you, to roll you down from the heights. When I am finished, you will be nothing but a heap of rubble. You will be desolate forever. Even your stones will never again be used for building. You will be completely wiped out,” says the LORD. (Jeremiah 51:20-26)
(Note that after God promises the Israelites a victory against Babylon, the Israelites actually get their butts kicked by them in the next chapter. So much for an all-knowing and all-powerful God.)

God Will Kill the Children of Sinners
If even then you remain hostile toward me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins. I will release wild animals that will kill your children and destroy your cattle, so your numbers will dwindle and your roads will be deserted. (Leviticus 26:21-22 NLT)

    More Rape and Baby Killing
Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children. (Isaiah 13:15-18 NLT)

    4) Miscellaneous Murders

    More of Samson’s Murders
(The Lord saves Sampson from standing trial for 30 murders and arson by allowing him to kill 1000 more men.) When he reached Lehi, and the Philistines came shouting to meet him, the spirit of the Lord came upon him: the ropes around his arms become as flax that is consumed by fire and the bonds melted away from his hands. Near him was the fresh jawbone of an ass; he reached out, grasped it, and with it killed a thousand men. (Judges 15:14-15 NAB)

    Peter Kills Two People
There was also a man named Ananias who, with his wife, Sapphira, sold some property. He brought part of the money to the apostles, but he claimed it was the full amount. His wife had agreed to this deception. Then Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God.” As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. Everyone who heard about it was terrified. Then some young men wrapped him in a sheet and took him out and buried him. About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. Peter asked her, “Was this the price you and your husband received for your land?” “Yes,” she replied, “that was the price.” And Peter said, “How could the two of you even think of doing a thing like this – conspiring together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Just outside that door are the young men who buried your husband, and they will carry you out, too.” Instantly, she fell to the floor and died. When the young men came in and saw that she was dead, they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. Great fear gripped the entire church and all others who heard what had happened. (Acts 5:1-11 NLT)

    Mass Murder
This is what the Lord of hosts has to say: ‘I will punish what Amalek did to Israel when he barred his way as he was coming up from Egypt. Go, now, attack Amalek, and deal with him and all that he has under the ban. Do not spare him, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.’ (1 Samuel 15:2-3 NAB)

    You Have to Kill
Cursed be he who does the Lords work remissly, cursed he who holds back his sword from blood. (Jeremiah 48:10 NAB)

The Danites Kill the Next Town
But the territory of the Danites was too small for them; so the Danites marched up and attacked Leshem, which they captured and put to the sword. Once they had taken possession of Lesham, they renamed the settlement after their ancestor Dan. (Joshua 19:47 NAB)

    God Kills Some More
Then the LORD said to me, “Even if Moses and Samuel stood before me pleading for these people, I wouldn’t help them. Away with them! Get them out of my sight! And if they say to you, ‘But where can we go?’ tell them, ‘This is what the LORD says: Those who are destined for death, to death; those who are destined for war, to war; those who are destined for famine, to famine; those who are destined for captivity, to captivity.’ “I will send four kinds of destroyers against them,” says the LORD. “I will send the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, the vultures to devour, and the wild animals to finish up what is left. Because of the wicked things Manasseh son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, did in Jerusalem, I will make my people an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.” (Jeremiah 15:1-4 NLT)

    God Promises More Killing
I will make Mount Seir utterly desolate, killing off all who try to escape and any who return. I will fill your mountains with the dead. Your hills, your valleys, and your streams will be filled with people slaughtered by the sword. I will make you desolate forever. Your cities will never be rebuilt. Then you will know that I am the LORD. (Ezekiel 35:7-9 NLT)

    The Angel of Death
My angel will go before you and bring you to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites; and I will wipe them out. (Exodus 23:23 NAB)

    Destruction of Ai
Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid or discouraged. Take the entire army and attack Ai, for I have given to you the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land. You will destroy them as you destroyed Jericho and its king. But this time you may keep the captured goods and the cattle for yourselves. Set an ambush behind the city.” So Joshua and the army of Israel set out to attack Ai. Joshua chose thirty thousand fighting men and sent them out at night with these orders: “Hide in ambush close behind the city and be ready for action. When our main army attacks, the men of Ai will come out to fight as they did before, and we will run away from them. We will let them chase us until they have all left the city. For they will say, ‘The Israelites are running away from us as they did before.’ Then you will jump up from your ambush and take possession of the city, for the LORD your God will give it to you. Set the city on fire, as the LORD has commanded. You have your orders.” So they left that night and lay in ambush between Bethel and the west side of Ai. But Joshua remained among the people in the camp that night.
Early the next morning Joshua roused his men and started toward Ai, accompanied by the leaders of Israel. They camped on the north side of Ai, with a valley between them and the city. That night Joshua sent five thousand men to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city. So they stationed the main army north of the city and the ambush west of the city. Joshua himself spent that night in the valley. When the king of Ai saw the Israelites across the valley, he and all his army hurriedly went out early the next morning and attacked the Israelites at a place overlooking the Jordan Valley. But he didn’t realize there was an ambush behind the city. Joshua and the Israelite army fled toward the wilderness as though they were badly beaten, and all the men in the city were called out to chase after them. In this way, they were lured away from the city. There was not a man left in Ai or Bethel who did not chase after the Israelites, and the city was left wide open.
Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Point your spear toward Ai, for I will give you the city.” Joshua did as he was commanded. As soon as Joshua gave the signal, the men in ambush jumped up and poured into the city. They quickly captured it and set it on fire. When the men of Ai looked behind them, smoke from the city was filling the sky, and they had nowhere to go. For the Israelites who had fled in the direction of the wilderness now turned on their pursuers. When Joshua and the other Israelites saw that the ambush had succeeded and that smoke was rising from the city, they turned and attacked the men of Ai. Then the Israelites who were inside the city came out and started killing the enemy from the rear. So the men of Ai were caught in a trap, and all of them died. Not a single person survived or escaped. Only the king of Ai was taken alive and brought to Joshua.
When the Israelite army finished killing all the men outside the city, they went back and finished off everyone inside. So the entire population of Ai was wiped out that day – twelve thousand in all. For Joshua kept holding out his spear until everyone who had lived in Ai was completely destroyed. Only the cattle and the treasures of the city were not destroyed, for the Israelites kept these for themselves, as the LORD had commanded Joshua. So Ai became a permanent mound of ruins, desolate to this very day. Joshua hung the king of Ai on a tree and left him there until evening. At sunset the Israelites took down the body and threw it in front of the city gate. They piled a great heap of stones over him that can still be seen today. (Joshua 8:1-29 NLT)

    Killing at Jericho
When the people heard the sound of the horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the city from every side and captured it. They completely destroyed everything in it – men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep, donkeys – everything. (Joshua 6:20-21 NLT)

    God Kills an Extended Family
“You have done more evil than all who lived before you. You have made other gods and have made me furious with your gold calves. And since you have turned your back on me, I will bring disaster on your dynasty and kill all your sons, slave or free alike. I will burn up your royal dynasty as one burns up trash until it is all gone. I, the LORD, vow that the members of your family who die in the city will be eaten by dogs, and those who die in the field will be eaten by vultures.'” Then Ahijah said to Jeroboam’s wife, “Go on home, and when you enter the city, the child will die. All Israel will mourn for him and bury him. He is the only member of your family who will have a proper burial, for this child is the only good thing that the LORD, the God of Israel, sees in the entire family of Jeroboam. And the LORD will raise up a king over Israel who will destroy the family of Jeroboam. This will happen today, even now! Then the LORD will shake Israel like a reed whipped about in a stream. He will uproot the people of Israel from this good land that he gave their ancestors and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, for they have angered the LORD by worshiping Asherah poles. He will abandon Israel because Jeroboam sinned and made all of Israel sin along with him.” (1 Kings 14:9-16 NLT)

    Mass Murder
The men of Israel withdrew through the territory of the Benjaminites, putting to the sword the inhabitants of the city, the livestock, and all they chanced upon. Moreover they destroyed by fire all the cities they came upon. (Judges 20:48 NAB)

    The Angel of Death
That night the angel of the Lord went forth and struck down one hundred and eighty five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. Early the next morning, there they were, all the corpuses of the dead. (2 Kings 19:35 NAB)

    Kill Your Neighbors
(Moses) stood at the entrance to the camp and shouted, “All of you who are on the LORD’s side, come over here and join me.” And all the Levites came. He told them, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Strap on your swords! Go back and forth from one end of the camp to the other, killing even your brothers, friends, and neighbors.” The Levites obeyed Moses, and about three thousand people died that day. Then Moses told the Levites, “Today you have been ordained for the service of the LORD, for you obeyed him even though it meant killing your own sons and brothers. Because of this, he will now give you a great blessing.” (Exodus 32:26-29 NLT)

    Kill the Family of Sinners
And Joshua said to Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession to him; and tell me now what thou hast done, hide it not from me. And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done. When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them, and behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.” [Note that the sin is not looting, but failing to give the loot to the treasury of the Lord.] “So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent, and behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it. And they took them from the midst of the tent, and brought them to Joshua, and to all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the LORD. And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them to the valley of Achor. And Joshua said, why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones. And they raised over him a great heap of stones to this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger: wherefore the name of that place was called the valley of Achor to this day. (Joshua 7:19-26 Webster’s Bible)

    Kill Followers of Other Religions
While the Israelites were camped at Acacia, some of the men defiled themselves by sleeping with the local Moabite women. These women invited them to attend sacrifices to their gods, and soon the Israelites were feasting with them and worshiping the gods of Moab. Before long Israel was joining in the worship of Baal of Peor, causing the LORD’s anger to blaze against his people. The LORD issued the following command to Moses: “Seize all the ringleaders and execute them before the LORD in broad daylight, so his fierce anger will turn away from the people of Israel.” So Moses ordered Israel’s judges to execute everyone who had joined in worshiping Baal of Peor. Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into the camp, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as they were weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle. When Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest saw this, he jumped up and left the assembly. Then he took a spear and rushed after the man into his tent. Phinehas thrust the spear all the way through the man’s body and into the woman’s stomach. So the plague against the Israelites was stopped, but not before 24,000 people had died. (Numbers 25:1-9 NLT)

At the customary time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, “O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command. O LORD, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.” Immediately the fire of the LORD flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the ditch! And when the people saw it, they fell on their faces and cried out, “The LORD is God! The LORD is God!” Then Elijah commanded, “Seize all the prophets of Baal. Don’t let a single one escape!” So the people seized them all, and Elijah took them down to the Kishon Valley and killed them there. (1 Kings 18:36-40 NLT)

    Kill All of Babylon
“Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you,” says the LORD. “Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction”. (Jeremiah 50:21-22 NLT)

    Micah Kills a Whole Town
Then, with Micah’s idols and his priest, the men of Dan came to the town of Laish, whose people were peaceful and secure. They attacked and killed all the people and burned the town to the ground. There was no one to rescue the residents of the town, for they lived a great distance from Sidon and had no allies nearby. This happened in the valley near Beth-rehob.Then the people of the tribe of Dan rebuilt the town and lived there. They renamed the town Dan after their ancestor, Israel’s son, but it had originally been called Laish. (Judges 18:27-29 NLT) (Note that God approves of this slaughter in verse 6.)

“If there were on the earth, angels walking about in peace and security, We should certainly have sent down for them from the heaven an angel as a Messenger.” [17:95]

QUR’AN IS The only Book in the universe that no one can change edit or altered and more then 1000 verses speak about correct scientific facts discoverd in the recent years which led many scientists and atheist to Islam….The Last Testament which Confirms the Torah and the Gospel….LAST TESTAMENT TO CALL PEOPLE FROM WORSHIPPING THE creations (Jesus, cow, monkey, idols…..) TO WORSHIP THE CREATOR.
How could illiterate prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) in the desert of Araibia come with that powerful book that no one can change and how could illiterate prophet (Pbuh), without having any sophisticated tools, without making Mathematical, Physical, Astrnomical researches or formulas know this facts 600AC? WHICH ARE ONLY DESCOVERED IN THE RECENT YEARS ….If it was probebility some of it will be CORRECT and some will be wrong OR CONTRADICT with scientific facts like the books before and after the Qur’an, how come all of them correct in the Qur’an?

Allah provides something from among all the evidence to convince each and every individual of the divine origin of His revelation. Recognition is easy; refusal requires obstinacy. Hence, reward versus punishment.

”….there are Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) for people who reflect.” [13:3]

How could illiterate prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) in the desert of Araibia challenge MANKIND AND JIN TO PRODUCE ONE CHAPTER AS THE QUR’AN?

”And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Quran) to Our slave (Muhammad Peace be upon him ), then produce a Surah (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah, if you are truthful., But if you do it not, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.” [2:23-24]

Since we know that some of the shorter surahs consist only of a few brief sentences, this final challenge constituted a definitive proof of the human being’s inability to imitate the Qur’an. Can the person of today take up the challenge of the Qur’an and produce a Surah like it, thereby conquering the stronghold of Islam and invalidating the claim of its Prophet?

Let us not forget that this challenge was issued to a people whose leaders were threatened by the devastating attacks of the Qur’an – their lives, their property, their ancient customs, their ancestors, their whole social position. If it had been at all possible for the Arabs to respond to the challenge of the Qur’an, they would have taken it up immediately, with the unstinting aid of the masters of eloquence that were by no means rare in that age. Thus they would have invalidated the proofs of the Qur’an and won an everlasting victory.

Qur’an has proposed a very simple challenge to those who oppose it. Why do then the deniers of prophethood choose roundabout ways, avoiding this direct method of confronting and defeating Islam? Is not because the door is firmly closed on meeting the challenge posed by the Qur’an?

It is not that they did not try to mute the challenge. Infact, they called into play all their resources in an effort to meet the challenge of the Qur’an, but all their efforts came to naught. They were unable to point even to a single error or defect in the Qur’an, and were obliged to admit that its words were situated on a higher plane than the thought and speech of the human being.

    What is a miracle?

I think it is necessary that we have a clear picture of what we mean by a miracle. Here are some definitions:

“An event that appears so inexplicable by the laws of nature, that it is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God.”
“A person, thing or event that excites admiring awe.”
“An act beyond human power, an impossibility.”
It is logical that greater the impossibility, greater the miracle. For example, should a person expire before our very eyes and is certified dead by a qualified medical man, yet later on a mystic or a saint commands the corpse to ‘arise!’, and to everybody’s astonishment the person gets up and walks away , we would label that as a miracle. But if the resurrection of the dead took place after the corpse had been in the mortuary for three days, then we would acclaim this as a greater miracle. And if the dead was made to arise from the grave, decades or centuries after the body had decomposed and rotted away, then in that case we would label it the greatest miracle of them all!

    A Common Trait

It has been a common trait of mankind since time immemorial that whenever a guide from God appeared to redirect their steps into the will and plan of God; they demanded supernatural proofs from these men of God, instead of accepting message on its merit.

For example, when Jesus Christ (pbuh) began to preach to his people – “the children of Israel” – to mend their ways and to refrain from mere legalistic formalism and imbibe the true spirit of the laws and commandments of god, his ‘people’ demanded miracles from him to prove his bona fides (his authenticity , his genuineness), as recorded in the Christian scriptures:

Then certain of the scribes and the Pharisees answered, saying master, we would have a sign ( miracle ) from thee. But he answered and said unto them, “an evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign (miracle) and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas (matthew 12:38-39 holy bible).

Though on the face of it, Jesus (pbuh) refuses to pamper the Jews here, in actual fact, he did perform many miracles as we learn from the gospel narratives.

The holy bible is full of supernatural events accredited to the prophets from their lord. In reality all those ‘signs’ and ‘wonders’ and ‘miracles’ were acts of God, but since those miracles were worked through his human agents, we describe them as the miracles of prophets (i.e. Moses or Jesus (pbuh) by those hands they were performed).

    Quirk Continues

Some six hundred years after the birth of Jesus (pbuh), Muhammad (pbuh) the messenger of God was born in Makkah in Arabia. When he proclaimed his mission at the age of forty, his fellow countrymen, the mushriks of makkah made an identical request for miracles, as had the Jews, from their promised Messiah. Text book style, it was as if the Arabs had taken a leaf from the Christian records. History has a habit of repeating itself!

And they say: why are not signs sent down to him from his lord? [Qur’an 29:50]

“Miracles ? Cries he, what miracles would you have? Are not you yourselves there? God made you ‘shaped you out of a little clay.’ Ye were small once; a few years ago ye were not at all. Ye have beauty, strength, thoughts, ‘ye have compassion on one another.’ Old age comes-on you, and grey hairs; your strength fades into feebleness: ye sink down, and again are not. ‘Ye have compassion on one another’: This struck me much: Allah might have made you having no compassion on one another, how had it been then! this is a great direct though, a glance at first-hand into the very fact of things….” “(On heroes hero-worship and the heroic in history”), by Thomas Carlyle.

    “This Struck Me Much”

This, that “ye have compassion on one another”, impressed thomas carlyle most from his perusal of an English translation. I presume, there verse that motivated this sentiment is:

    1. And among his signs is this, that he created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them. and he has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are signs for those who reflect. (emphasis added) Translation by A Yusuf ALi [Qur’an 30:21]

    2. And one of his signs it is, that he hath created wives for you of your own species that ye may dwell with them, and hath put love and tenderness between you. herein truly are signs for those who reflect (emphasis added) Translation by Rev. J.M. Rodwell(M.A.)

    3. By another sign he gave you wives from among yourselves, that ye might live in joy with them, and planted love and kindness into your hearts. surely there are signs in this for thinking men (emphasis added) Translation by N.J. Dawood.

The first example is from the translation by Yusuf Ali, a muslim. The second is by a Christian priest the rev. Rodwell and the last example is by an Iraqi Jew, N.J. Dawood.

Unfortunately Thomas Carlyle had no access to any one of these because none of them had seen the light of day in his time. The only one available to him in 1840 was as he said on page 85 of his book under referance – “We also can read the Koran; our translation of it, by sale, is known to be a very fair one.”

    Taint is in the Motive

Carlyle is very charitable to his fellow countryman. The motives of george sale, who pioneered an English translation of the Holy Quran, were suspect. He makes no secret of his antagonism to the holy book of Islam. In his preface to his translation in 1734 he made it known that it was his avowed intention to expose the man Mohammad and his forgery. He records: “who can apprehend any danger from so manifest a forgery?… The protestants alone are able to attack the Koran with success; and for them, I trust, providence has reserved the glory of its overthrow.” George Sale, And he set to work with his prejudiced translation. You will be able to judge how ‘fair’ and scholarly george sale was from the very verse which ‘struck’ (carlyle) ‘much!’ Compare it with the three example already given by a Muslim, a Christian and a Jew: And of his signs another is, that he had created you , out of yourselves, wives that ye may cohabit with them, and hath put love and compassion between you.

I don’t think that George sale was a ‘a male chauvinist pig’ of his day to describe our mates, wives or spouses as sexual objects. He was only keeping to his promise, which Carlyle overlooked. The Arabic word which he (sale) perverted is ‘li-tas-kunoo’ which means to find peace, consolation, composure or tranquillity; and not ‘cohabit’ meaning ‘to live together in a sexual relationship when not legally married’ (the reader’s digest universal dictionary.)

Every word of the Qur’anic text is meticulously chosen, chiselled and placed by the All-Wise himself. They carry God’s ‘fingerprint’, and are signs of God. And yet, the spiritually jaundiced…

    Ask For A Sign

What signs?? They mean some special kinds of signs or miracles such as their own foolish minds dictate. Everything is possible for God, but God is not going to humour the follies of men or listen to their false demands. He has sent his messenger to explain his signs clearly, and to warn them of the consequences of rejection. Is that not enough? The trend of their demand is generally as follows:

In specific terms they asked that he – Muhammad (pbuh) – ‘Put a ladder up to heaven an bring down a book from God in their very sight’ – “Then we would believe,” they said. Or “ye see the mountain yonder, turn it into gold’ – “then we would believe.” or ‘make streams to gush out in the desert’ – “then we would believe.”

Now listen to the soft, sweet reasoning of Muhammad (pbuh) against the unreasonable and sceptical demands of the mushriks – “Do I say to you, verily I am an angel? Do I say to you, verily in my hands are the treasures of God? Only, what is revealed to me do I follow.” Listen further to the most dignified reply he is commanded by his Lord to give the unbelievers.

“Say (O Muhammad): ‘The signs (miracles) are indeed with Allah:
And most certainly I am only a clear warner!”

In the following ayah the holy prophet is made to point to the holy Qur’an itself as an answer to their hypocritical demand for some special kind of ‘sign’ of ‘miracle’ for which their foolish pagan mentality craved. For indeed all miracles are ‘signs’; and it is their disbelief, their scepticism, their lack of faith which motivates their request for a sign. They are asked to – ‘look at the Qur’an’ and again, ‘look at the Qur’an!’

It is not enough for them that we have sent down to thee (O Muhammad) the book (al-Qur’an) which is rehearsed to them? Verily, in it (this perspicuous book) is a mercy and reminder to those who believe. [Qur’an 29:51].

    Two Proofs

As a proof of the divine authorship and the miraculous nature of the Qur’an, two arguments are advanced by the almighty Himself:

    1. ‘that we’ (God Almighty) have revealed to you (O Muhammed!) ‘the book to you’ who art absolutely an unlearned person. An ‘ummi’ prophet. One who cannot read or write. One who cannot sign his own name. Let Thomas Carlyle testify regarding the educational qualifications of Muhammad –

    2. one other circumstance we must not forget: that he had no school learning; of the thing we call school-learning none at all.’ Moreover the divine author (God Almighty) himself testifies to the veracity of Muhammad’s (pbuh) claim that he could never have composed the contents of the holy Qur’an; he could not have been its author:

“And thou (O Muhammad) was not (able) to recite a book before this (book came), nor art thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted.”
    [Qur’an 29:48].

The author of the Qur’an is reasoning with us, that had Muhammad (pbuh) been a learned man, and had he been able to read or write, then in that case the babblers in the market places might have had some justification to doubt his claim that the holy Qur’an is God’s word. In the event of Muhammed (pbuh) being a literate person, the accusation of his enemies that he had probably copied his book (Qur’an) from the writings of the Jews and Christians, or that perhaps he had been studying Aristotle and Plato, or that he must have browsed through the ‘Torat,’ the ‘Zabur’ and the ‘Injeel’ and had rehashed it all in a beautiful language, might have carried some weight. Then, ‘the talkers of vanities’ might have had a point. But even this flimsy pretence has been denied to the unbeliever and the cynic: a point hardly big enough to hang a fly upon!

    2. ‘The book’? Yes, the ‘book’ itself, carries its own evidence proving its divine authorship. Study the book from any angel. Scrutinize it. Why not take up the author’s challenge if your doubts are genuine? Do they not consider the Qur’an (with care) had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy.

It is inconceivable that any human author would remain consistent in this teachings and his preachings for a period of over two decades. From the age of forty, when Muhammad (pbuh) received his first call from heaven to the age sixty-three when he breathed his last, for twenty-three years the holy prophet practised and preached Islam. In those twenty-three years, he passed through the most conflicting vicissitudes of life. Any man, during the course of such a mission, would be forced by circumstances to make ‘honourable’ compromises, and cannot help contradicting himself. No man can ever write the same always, as the message of the holy Qur’an is: consistent with itself, throughout! Or is it that the unbelievers objections are merely argumentive, refractory, against their own better light and judgement.? Furthermore, the holy Qur’an contains or mentions many matters relating to the nature of the universe which were unknown to man before but which subsequently through evolution and discoveries of Science have fully confirmed – a field where an untutored mind would have most certainly lost in wild and contradictory speculations!

    Self-Evident Proof

Again and again when miracles are demanded from the prophet of God by the cynical and frivolous few, he is made to point to the Qur’an – message from high – as ‘the miracle.’ The miracle or miracles! And men of wisdom, people with literary and spiritual insight, who were honest enough to themselves, recognised and accepted al-qur`an as an a genuine miracle.

    Says the holy Qur’an:

“Nay here are signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge:
And none but the unjust reject our signs.”
    [Qur’an 29:49]

Goethe, quoted in T.P. Hughes’ DICTIONARY OF ISLAM, p. 526.
“The Koran admittedly occupies an important position among the great religious books of the world. Though the youngest of the epoch-making works belonging to this class of literature, it yields to hardly any in the wonderful effect which it has produced on large masses of men. It has created an all but new phase of human thought and a fresh type of character. It first transformed a number of heterogeneous desert tribes of the Arabian peninsula into a nation of heroes, and then proceeded to create the vast politico-religious organizations of the Muhammadan world which are one of the great forces with which Europe and the East have to reckon today.”
    G. Margoliouth, Introduction to J.M. Rodwell’s, THE KORAN, New York: Everyman’s Library, 1977, p. vii.
“A work, then, which calls forth so powerful and seemingly incompatible emotions even in the distant reader – distant as to time, and still more so as a mental development – a work which not only conquers the repugnance which he may begin its perusal, but changes this adverse feeling into astonishment and admiration, such a work must be a wonderful production of the human mind indeed and a problem of the highest interest to every thoughtful observer of the destinies of mankind.”
Dr. Steingass, quoted in T.P. Hughes’ DICTIONARY OF ISLAM, pp. 526-527.
“The above observation makes the hypothesis advanced by those who see Muhammad as the author of the Qur’an untenable. How could a man, from being illiterate, become the most important author, in terms of literary merits, in the whole of Arabic literature? How could he then pronounce truths of a scientific nature that no other human being could possibly have developed at that time, and all this without once making the slightest error in his pronouncement on the subject?”
Maurice Bucaille, THE BIBLE, THE QUR’AN AND SCIENCE, 1978, p. 125.
“Here, therefore, its merits as a literary production should perhaps not be measured by some preconceived maxims of subjective and aesthetic taste, but by the effects which it produced in Muhammad’s contemporaries and fellow countrymen. If it spoke so powerfully and convincingly to the hearts of his hearers as to weld hitherto centrifugal and antagonistic elements into one compact and well-organized body, animated by ideas far beyond those which had until now ruled the Arabian mind, then its eloquence was perfect, simply because it created a civilized nation out of savage tribes, and shot a fresh woof into the old warp of history.”
Dr. Steingass, quoted in T.P. Hughes’ DICTIONARY OF ISLAM, p.528.
“In making the present attempt to improve on the performance of my predecessors, and to produce something which might be accepted as echoing however faintly the sublime rhetoric of the Arabic Koran, I have been at pains to study the intricate and richly varied rhythms which – apart from the message itself – constitute the Koran’s undeniable claim to rank amongst the greatest literary masterpieces of mankind… This very characteristic feature – ‘that inimitable symphony,’ as the believing Pickthall described his Holy Book, ‘the very sounds of which move men to tears and ecstasy’ – has been almost totally ignored by previous translators; it is therefore not surprising that what they have wrought sounds dull and flat indeed in comparison with the splendidly decorated original.”
Arthur J. Arberry, THE KORAN INTERPRETED, London: Oxford University Press, 1964, p. x.
“A totally objective examination of it [the Qur’an] in the light of modern knowledge, leads us to recognize the agreement between the two, as has been already noted on repeated occasions. It makes us deem it quite unthinkable for a man of Muhammad’s time to have been the author of such statements on account of the state of knowledge in his day. Such considerations are part of what gives the Qur’anic Revelation its unique place, and forces the impartial scientist to admit his inability to provide an explanation which calls solely upon materialistic reasoning.”
Maurice Bucaille, THE QUR’AN AND MODERN SCIENCE, 1981, p. 18.

There are countless verses in the bible where Jesus makes it very clear that all people are equal, Jew or Greek, rich or poor, however you may separate people. Of course he must speak of how people treat others because everyone is a sinner and Jesus acknowledges that; he is not saying that it is okay. You have left out context in your verses. When Jesus directs a people to not interact with another people, it is because they have done something wrong. You have to read the bible in its entirety to understand what one city might have done in contrast to what God directed them to do. You cannot claim the bible is outdated because it “supports slavery/racism/whatever your claim is” because God is all-knowing and he knew what would happen for the rest of eternity. Everything that is said in that bible is said with a purpose and there is no hate. Jesus says the most important commandments are to love God and to love others. The entire book is built around love. Many times God even says those at a disadvantage are closer to him. God would never be against blacks/gays/whoever else who has fallen victim to judgment and mistreatment because Jesus himself was an outcast and he understands what it is like. Of course you can take a verse from the bible and twist it to sound however you’d like it to. You could do that with anything. But God makes it clear that everyone is equal and anyone who declares him savior is welcomed into his kingdom. I’m sorry that something has happened to you to make you hateful and angry towards God but I hope next time you read the bible you can read it with an open mind and interpret it the way that God meant for you to.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭. God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
‭‭John‬ ‭4:24‬ ‭Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:7-9‬ ‭. It’s amazing to me how people try to bring God down to there level, and speak like they have all the knowledge of the universe.Very small ignorant mind of the person who wrote this article.

Hm your right equality was not established by God till the new testament but batting your eyes at sin is just as bad as doing it the two can’t coexist. Ppl feel they should be able to do whatever they want that’s not God’s plan either look at the wrethched sex craved hippies of the 60s and 70s whores running amuck on the world and peoe say that’s good were just being free ya your right but those who don’t control themselves aren’t worth anything really.should I let them live yes but because God will destroy them for there vile wretchedness later Americas society is based on many flawed perceptions of life were all the same when clearly men and women are not the same if your a man be a man anything else is evil and untrue regardless of the lies we feed our culture. Jews were the only people following god why would anyone else deserve to be saved. It stems from the societal flaw of tolerance we have were told to tolerate things that should be abhorred and detested. 35 million people on one affair site America has no morals

I’m getting here late, I haven’t read all of the comments, but felt I must reply to what I read. (I didn’t finish reading the page in its entirety. I read enough to see one thing you missed). Idols. God is a jealous God. He will not tolerate idols. That is what you missed. Many of the verses you quoted as referencing racism had nothing to do with racism. It’s about people worshipping other Gods. Re-read them. Count the number of times you see references made to idols, pagans, etc.

  49. Anna

God is NOT a jealous God. You are being discrimitave against religion and if you ask me thats just as bad as racism. And by the way stating a race of somebody is NOT being racist.

    • God actually does get jealous. He cries, weeps, and gets angry too. The jealousy we have is different from Gods. Our jealously is a sin, but Gods jealously is when someone decides to not follow him. We were ment for one purpose, to follow in the foot steps of God. To praise and worship him. So when he sees his own people not follow him, why would you not be jealous.

    • chonnom

God is a jealous God. It is written in the bible.

It means there is one God, and he doesn’t like it when he sees that you are wordshipping some statue or some demon.

There is one God. One truth to the story. Not many versions of it.

Which one is the truth you read you decide.

  54. Whoa some of these comments are pretty brutal, and others are a little silly. I just wanted to say that I appreciate you for studying the Bible.
I know you started it off with an open mind, and you are simply writing about what it actually says. Christians will try to justify this verse and that verse, but you really can’t explain away verses like “Do not allow a sorceress to live” and so on.

  56. Not true cause the bible Was Never made by God, it’s MAN MADE. All the books in the bible are written by people who youst to live on this earth. They all walked with God and All made a book on How they saw God. God never wrote a book. Knowing right from wrong is in your essence, no one every had to tell you its bad to kill your mom. Somehow you already know that. I do believe They quoted some things from Jesus himself but not even HALF OF WHATS IN THE BIBLE is written by jesus. Jesus followers were the ones who wrote their own book and Called it the bible. All the books in the bible are named after a person, Not the title “learning right from wrong or When sin is created”.

  57. Janet Cook

God only saves the faithful from evil. Must have been a whole lot of evil religions. Check out radical Muslims.

  58. This is all very sad to read. You know when the devil has won when his own creations start to misjudge the One and only God. It is articles like these that don’t help as we try to save as many people as we can but people turn away because people miss read or interpret the Bible the wrong way.

Good day sir: Your one example regarding the contradictory nature of the new testament reveals how weak of a critical scholar you are. In the 1st quote referenced [Matt 10:5-6;]5 These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, 6 but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel”. It is perfectly clear Jesus is sending out the twelve Apostles on a specific mission to the house of Israel. Only Jesus, the God man is perfectly able to define who their mission is to (the House of Israel) and where they are to be found, (nowhere among the Gentiles or the town of the Samaritans). You choose to ignore the specificity of the sending, specific point in time, specific group of missionaries, a specific target audience. The context of your supposed contradictory text, Acts 15:3, [“So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, describing in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and brought great joy to all the brothers”.] is the sending by the church for the conversion of the Gentiles, a specific target group even the the context of the scripture. ~~ Your arguements are all really this easy to disprove. Try again please!

  60. To all of you fellow Christians trying to argue with the atheists, please know that you cannot argue with satan – it’s like trying to string a guitar with your ear lobes. Fellow Christians, all we can do is spread the good word. Whether people choose to read what we have to share, is up to them. It is not our mission to convert, but only to spread the good word. We know that God has been battling sin since the beginning of time and that he finally decided to send Jesus to settle the matter once and for all. We know the truth and whether others choose to believe is up to them. If they choose to follow the wide and easy path that leads to destruction, that is sadly their choice.

  61. Xolani

Without the Spirit of God you will translate the Bible to your detriment, so I advice you first of all to ask the living for His Spirit and after that you will see differently. The Lord our God is not a racist God, no you are mistaken; He is love. Sin( and the devil is the author) brought racism to mankind. Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour the Son of God’ love brought oneness( read Galatians 3:26-29 verse 28 says in Christ there is neither Jew or Greek…for we are all one in Christ Jesus.

because if the bible is proven wrong what hope does that leave the believer in death?

    • Ty Ceasarspn

When a writer records history is the finished work condoning the events? Everything in the bible is recorded in history. The perspective of the bible that we are to get outta the one of the mind of the One who inspired the writers/recorders of the true events and lays the foundation for believing and insight of the ones to come.

      • Rishyruby

I’m sorry, where does the bible CONDONE rape, racism or homophobia?? The bible does not condone same sex relationships, that I understand and agree with but it calls for Christians to be loving and not judgmental, not to be predgidice against them. As for your other point I am clueless as to where in the bible apparently says rape and racism are good things???

  64. Jason

Youve made some really good arguments, you can find the “REAL TRUTH” answers to your bible hypocrisy and prejudice questions at the marvelous work and a wonder (mwaw) search for or it online. It has helped me.

    • Jason

I believe the core issue with an atheist (or any open minded person) pointing out the flaws in the bible is its seen as an attack on there faith, without offering any other form of comfort in death, and from my experience this only leads to the believer to suffering from panic attacks, to prove the bible wrong or flawed you need to offer a REAL TRUTH COMFORT in its place. Or life would hold no meaning or value to the believer and this is inacceptable.

The Earth is a closed system (more or less), everything that has ever been, or will ever be, is comprised of the those atoms that first formed our remarkable world.
There are atoms within all of us that have floated at the edge of space, and dived to the greatest depths of the sea.
We are made of mountains and valleys; mosses and redwoods; snails and hawks; dinosaurs and will be of creatures that do not yet exist. We have atoms that have been part of kings and paupers, heroes and villains, the good, the bad and the ugly.

        We are all eternal.

        That is enough.

  65. Rishyruby

Just a few old and New Testament verses AGAINST racism for you to consider. Also when reading the bible at any point on any matter the contexts of time and relevant socity, cultural beliefs and thought religious ideals ect must be taken into account. And correct interpretation of the scriptures, “how was the author intending this to be read?” Is a great question.

    Ephesians 2:14
For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,
(Both groups here meaning Jews and Gentiles (non-Jews))

    Malachi 2:10
Do we not all have one father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously each against his brother so as to profane the covenant of our fathers?

    1 John 2:11
But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

    James 2:9
But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
(Rasism and predgidice is a sin! Definitely not condoned by the bible)

    Colossians 3:11
a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.
(There is no distinction because by Gods free gift of love and salvation anyone who repents their sins is one together in Christ.)

    And again, same message
    Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

    And again
    Romans 10:12
    For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;

    Acts 17:26
and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation

    Acts 10:34
Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,

    Just to show a few.
Oh and one more really important one:
    John 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another

I don’t know if you just want to pick a fight or if in your own way you are trying to find the truth and understand Christianity but I hope and pray that you will find the lord and understand his love and grace.

That is ignorance right there. It wasn’t ethnic cleansing the reason they were destroyed. It was because of their beliefs. They were idol worshippers. You must have forgotten that Jesus himself as the promised messiah was descended from king David. Who was the person to receive the messianic promise? King David’s grandmother Ruth. Now if you get where I’m going with this you will see my point. Ruth was a Jewish convert but not only was she a moabite, but she was also a pagan priestess that worshipped the idol god marduke. Therefore not only was Jesus’s lineage broken by an asian, but by a pagan as well.

You do realize times were very different then than now. If someone acknowledges the cultural segregation, doesn’t necessarily shows them to be racist. They didn’t have PC or safe zones in those times; even mark Twain is viewed as racist by some due to his words and dialect; but mark Twain simply acknowledge what was culturaly acceptable and what was ordinated by law(segregation laws). Mark twain wasn’t racist, in fact he was very liberal minded even more so to today’s standard in my opinion. So Jesus acknowledges that the Jews thought low of gentiles but he always has come for the sake of gentiles. You see he was acknowledging the separation that the woman felt from her peers, but he was simply playing into it to show her that it was faith not heritage that draws us apart(my opinion). He wasn’t racist nor is the old testament racist if you read it in its entirety. God is drawing a conclusion that even though he selected the Jews he didn’t favour them. The Jews were cast out by God many times for sacrificing unto other gods — these often requiring child sacrifice, prostitutions, lust and other divulgings. So it depicts how even though a people is selected and blessed they aren’t drawn apart due to them facing the same persecutions that many nations endured due to their back sliding. Read the book of Jonah and you’ll see God brought him to save ninevi from destruction by calling to repent: and when the ninevites repented god blessed them but Jonah loathed gods grace because he didn’t see the ninevites as worthy due to them not being Jews, yet god gave him shade from heat, latter taking the shade away, then questioning Jonah as to why he would be mad he took the shade away when it is was granted by him. That conclusion is drawn means why be mad that God gave grace unto gentiles when it is given by God for their repentance. The Bible isn’t racist because it draws a distinction between people based off faith instead if heritage. It is revolutionary in that sense because it was cultural norm for distinctions to made based off heritage by humans in those times not god. He plays on it to show us apart in away different then what we have known. We as humans are still inheriantly racist even in these times and we will be for a long time. It doesn’t promote slaver either but promotes obedience over all to show good faith rather than acting out in violence. You’ll find slave revolts through out history would always turn bad both for the privileged and the slaves. Peaceful protesting is how we get things done such as civil rights. You should read a book before you stake your claim and draw the conclusion that people are racist just for them acknowledging the cultural norm in their times. Acknowledgment is how we get past these things.

  68. chonnom

You obviously have read some bible but don’t seem to understand it as a whole.

It is a book of patterns.

Jews vs Gentiles. You don’t understand it bc you haven’t really tried to understand it.

First of all you can view the Jews as the chosen people who God made a place for in his new Kingdom meaning people who will be saved. However if you read the rest of the bible and put everything in context, you will also realize Gentiles are the ones who won’t be saved, the sinners that don’t repent.

Jews were the chosen ones yet they failed to meet qualities that God wishes, and even the Jews were a disappointment in his eyes. That is why Jesus comes and opens up the kingdom evwn to the gentiles who are willing to follow him.l

If you read Mathews you can easily find the verses that refer to this.

  69. I
“any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin”. So treating people different because they are from a different tribe or ethnic group is racist.”

First, even if you accepted the UN definition which conflates race with things like ethnicity and or nationality, The problem is that even in the texts you cite people aren’t treated differently because “they come from a different tribe or ethnic group” they are treated differently because of different religious practises and values the people hold, you’ll find that in scripture when people from the same national, origin or ethnic groups don’t hold to the religious practises or values in question marriage is allowed and even endorsed.
So for your argument to hold water it would have to be racist to claim that one religion is better than another.
The whole point however of your post is to attack a particular religious perspective, one that upholds the bible as authoritative, and the blog post is attempting to persuade readers that this perspective is racist, corrupt, morally bankrupt and so on.
So if its racist to claim that certain religious perspectives or values are inferior to others your post is racist. If on the other hand its not racist to claim certain religions values are inferior to others then the passages you cite aren’t racist.

Someone who says, look at how terrible this religion is, it claims other religions are terrible, isn’t really saying anything of rational substance.
