Were The Biblical Prophecies Fulfilled?

A common argument made by Christians is that the Bible contains prophecies that it would be impossible for any ordinary human to know and must have come from God. These claimed fulfilled prophesises are supposedly undeniable proof that the Bible is the word of God.

“Unique among all books ever written, the Bible accurately foretells specific events-in detail-many years, sometimes centuries, before they occur. Approximately 2500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter—no errors.”

This is seen as irrefutable proof in the truth of the Bible and of God and it is claimed that “the odds for all these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance without error is less than one in 102000” (there is no explanation of the maths behind the number and seems to be entirely guesswork.)

But before we examine these claimed prophecies, it is necessary to lay down some tests for what constitutes a prophecy and to determine how reliable it is. After all, every religion, mystic, fortune teller and crank has made prophecies so it is necessary to sort the good from the bad.

1.       It has to be a prophecy

Now this may sound a bit obvious, but the original line must have been intended as a prophecy and not merely a story. So if a line says “a house will fall in a storm” this is just a story and not a prophecy of the fall of an empire. The author must make it clear to his readers that he is making a prophecy and not just speaking in general.

2.      It must be clear

The prophecy must be instantly clear as to what it is foretelling; it cannot simply be so vague that any event could fulfil it. For example “a house will fall in a storm” is not a prophecy as anything could be interpreted as fulfilling it and those who hear it would not know. If a prophecy is supposed to be about someone, then it should make this clear from the beginning and not be left for future generations to try and guess who it is.

3.      It cannot be simply guesswork

If two armies are going to war, I could make a lucky guess and predict the winning army. This wouldn’t be much of a prophecy as any lay person could guess that. For a prophecy to count as evidence, it must be so specific that not even someone who studied the topic could have made an educated guess. The more unlikely the prophecy, the more impressive it is, so something that was completely unexpected would be the sign of a strong prophecy.

4.      It must occur before the event happens

If I was to tell you about September 11th, this wouldn’t be a prophecy but rather history. We must be sure that all prophecies occurred before the events in order to be genuine. Likewise we have to make sure we are reading the original accounts and not seeing some that were changed later to give the impression of a prophecy.

5.       There cannot be self-fulfilment

If it is prophesised that a great ruler will conquer a town, then people will conquer that town in order to claim that they are that ruler. Or if it predicted that Israel will become a country again, then people will try to rebuild Israel so as to fulfil the prophecy. Nor can later writers edit the text to give the impression that the prophecy was fulfilled.

6.       The event must be unique

If I say “a king will be murdered by his son” this could apply to any monarchy anywhere. Loads of kings have been stabbed in the back by people they trust, including family. So a prophecy must refer to a specific event and specific people.

7.      No cherry picking

You can’t simply take the prophecies that you like and ignore the others. The Bible is full of metaphorical language, so it is not good enough to take everything that sounds like it came true and ignore everything else. Likewise prophecies must be taken as whole, you can’t exclude the parts that didn’t come true and keep the rest. If you make a 100 prophecies and only one came true, then you cannot ignore the other 99 and call yourself a prophet.

8.       The prophecy must be falsifiable

The prophecy must have the potential to fail or be proven wrong. If there is no time limit on the prophecy then we could have to wait thousands of years before it is “fulfilled” at which point it is not a prophecy but a matter of probability. A prophecy can only be evidence if it could have failed as well as succeeded.

So those are the 8 ground rules. It may sound like I’m raising the standard very high, but we must realise what an extraordinary claim a prophecy is. It is nothing short of claiming that the creator of the universe is telling you how the future will unfold. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. After all, we are dealing with the creator of the universe for whom all things are possible. If God wanted he could predict the exact time and place of the next earthquake as well as the exact casualty list. I don’t think Christians should be worried that I am imposing stringent conditions on the prophecy, after all, that merely makes it all the more impressive if the Bible passes the test.

Tyre

Probably the most used prophecy is that of Ezekiel 26 which prophesies that Tyre will be destroyed as vengeance for rejoicing over the fall of Jerusalem. The prophecy predicts that its walls will be destroyed and its towers pulled down, even its rubble will be removed until nothing but bare rock is left. It says that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon will attack the city. The invaders “will break down your walls and demolish your fine houses and throw your stones, timber and rubble into the sea.” It will be pillaged and destroyed and “will never be rebuilt”.

So how does this hold up? Nebuchadnezzar did attack Tyre which could be simply a good guess as the prophecy dates from roughly the same time. However, the attack fails and Tyre is not captured. But 250 years later Alexander the Great did capture Tyre and it is claimed that this fulfilled the prophecy. However, this is a strong case of wishful thinking. The prophecy was almost definitely referring to Nebuchadnezzar not Alexander the Great. For it to be an accurate prophecy it must be unique, it cannot be fulfilled anytime a city is captured. After all, war was very common in the region and every city was captured multiple times. Claiming that a city will fall at some time is as unspectacular as claiming there will be a famine. Furthermore, it was meant to be punishment from God. What good is punishment that comes 250 year later after everyone at the time is long dead and forgotten?

The final reason this prophecy fails is that Tyre was not abandoned but instead has continued to this day as a thriving city. Even the New Testament records Jesus visiting Tyre debunking the claim that it “will never be rebuilt”. Surely if Ezekiel could see 250 years into the future he could be clear about it? If he did receive a message from God, would it really have been so vaguely worded? It seems that this is an example of desperately twisting history in order to salvage a failed prophecy.

Isaiah

Most of the prophecies in the Bible are contained within the books of Isaiah and Daniel so I will address each one in turn. First there is Isaiah 44:28 and 45:1 which is supposedly a prediction of the rise of Cyrus the Great who will conquer Babylon and allow the Jews to return to Israel. However, the prophecy is incredibly vague and was not written hundreds of years before but rather at the time of Cyrus conquests. It should be noted that at no point is Babylon mentioned nor is it described who Cyrus is (as though it was already known to the readers of the time). Finally Cyrus is referred to as “the anointed one” which is another term for the Messiah.

Isaiah 13:17-22 is claimed to be a prediction of the fall of Babylon which will be destroyed and never inhabited. Except that it has been continuously inhabited and today it is called Iraq. Also Isaiah 13:22 refers to “dragons in their pleasant palaces”. I don’t think something that claims the existence of dragons is something Christians should boast about.

Daniel

Daniel 8 is one of the silliest attempts at claiming a prophecy. It tells of a bizarre vision Daniel had where a ram was defeated by a goat whose horn broke and four new ones grew out and then the goat stamped on some stars (as they do). This is apparently a prophecy predicting Alexander the Great (the goat) and how his empire split into four pieces. This is an unbelievable stretch of the imagination that I doubt anyone could seriously believe it is a prophecy. David concludes his account by saying “none understood” the vision. This fails 1, 2, 4, and 6 as the goat could be a metaphor for literally anything.

Failed

There are many failed prophecies such as Isaiah 17:1 which predicted Damascus would be destroyed and no longer a city. Ezekiel 29:8-12 predicted that

“And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste; and they shall know that I am the Lord: because he hath said, the river is mine, and I have made it. Behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia. No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.”

However, this never happened and Egypt has been continuously inhabited until the current day.

There are numerous failed prophecies such as Genesis 15:18 which promises the land of Canaan as “an everlasting possession” to the Israelites (a possession the Israelities constantly lose in wars). God promises to drive all the Israelites enemies out of the land (Exodus 34:10-1) (which he could not do because some of them had “iron chariots”). It is prophesied that Josiah will die in peace (2 Kings 22:19-20) but he later killed in battle with Egyptians (2 Kings 23:29-30) Zechariah 9:8 prophesies that Israel will never be overrun again (it is). Zechariah 10:11 prophesies that the river Nile will dry up (one of the more spectacular failures).. This is also prophesised in Isaiah 19:5 which further predicts (19:17) that Judah will conquer Egypt (it never even tried to invade), five Egyptian cities will speak Canaan languages (19:18) (never happened), Judaism will become a major Egyptian religion (19:21) and there will be an alliance or unification between Egypt and Assyria (19:23) (which never happened).

Conclusion

The evidence for Biblical prophesies is weak to the point of non-existent. Most of the claimed prophecies are merely wishful thinking. Metaphorical languages is twisted to give it an unintended meaning which is then applied to random historical events as though they are linked. The prophesies are as vague as any standard fortune teller with the accuracy level of wild guesses. It boggles the mind that someone could think these meagre scraps could be held as proof of communication with God and an ability to see into the future.

It’s okay to look at the Bible logically and scientifically to break it down and disprove it that’s fine but the Bible was not meant to be analyzed. It was merely meant to be used as an instrument to unite people under a higher power. Plus the Bible is for people of Faith, if you don’t have Faith then you don’t need to read it or try to disprove it because it doesn’t apply to you. It was made for people who understand faith. Yes I understand some people are extremists and try to force their religion upon others an that some use the “2000 prophecies accurately fulfilled” part to back up why its true but that comes from a passionate place although its not a proper way to maintain peace among people of different beliefs. I feel like it doesn’t matter what you believe as you long as you treat everyone with Love & Respect but I will say this about the Bible.. it is 66 books. Written by many different people at many different points in time, and somehow it comes together to create something that is cohesive and that people can refer to not just for religion but for morals, peace of mind and humility. It shows how united one tribe of people were (and still are) because of their faith in something they felt was real because not everything that is REAL & TRUE can be seen, touched or heard. You don’t have to be a Christian to understand the Bible or the Mesage of the Messiah you just have to have Faith in that which created and sustains all Life. People get so wrapped up in trying to prove or disprove the Bible that they miss the unifying message of the context..

      1. Dorian Mattar says:

Faith is the suspension of logic, so you are basically saying that you believe it even if the evidence says it’s false.

Religion and faith doesn’t unite, it splits up humanity into different sects, more than 30,000 sects in christianity alone and between Muslims, Hindus, etc.

How many religious wars have been fraught?

The only thing that unites are facts and science which has united everyone via the web more thanything else in the history of humanity.

      2. Dorian Mattar says:

The bible is full of hideous teachings that are completely immoral. If I lived by the bible, I’d be in jail for killing people that worked on Fridays.

We are caught up in finding the truth on everything, this is how we progress. This is how we learn what works and what doesn’t.

Why would you want to live not knowing if something you spend a considerable amount of time doing is paying off? If prayer doesn’t work, you are talking to the wind, does that sound like something you like doing?

Every study shows that praying doesn’t work, that’s why hospitals are full of doctors and not preachers.

The bible doesn’t come together, it fails with countless contradictions. They can’t even tell the year Jesus was supposedly born or died, when he wrecked the temple, or if judas bought the land or not, the list goes on and on and this is because they are stories passed on by oral tradition, they simply similar. The church edited and picked whatever they wanted living out many letters. Does that sound reliable to you?

I see religion as training wheels that are way past due on coming off.

      3. Dorian Mattar says:

Unite? Well judging by the 30000 sects in christianity alone, it’s done a lousy job.

        1. Sarah Strausbaugh says:

Dorian, the Bible hasn’t done a lousy job… people have done a lousy job following the Bible. I totally agree that religion splitting up Christianity only goes against God’s design.

          1. Dorian Moises Mattar says:

The bible is has thousands of contradictions and what you people claim are allegories, which create different interpretations which lead to separation.

You can blame the employees all you want, but in reality, it’s the manager in charge who is responsible for his employees.

If you used your ways in any company, you’d be fire instantly. There is no excuse why your captain allows his ship to arrive at a different port that it’s original destination.

That freewill excuse that is brewing in your mind, stands no chance in any corporation, anyone braking the companies rules would be fired and the ship would arrive at the correct port wether they have freewill or not.

            So stop kidding yourself.

Now if you want to discuss freewill, while you also believe that your god is omniscient, please type something different than what your god already knows you are going to type.

If you can’t do that, either your god is not omniscient, or you have no freewill.

            Take your pick.

            1. Sarah Strausbaugh says:

What’s brewing in my mind is a series of posts in response to your comments.
In response to this one in particular… employees have no freewill within the boundaries of the corporation… they are free to choose to obey the guidelines or they are banished… exactly. The ship WILL arrive at the correct port regardless of their actions… exactly. They each have freedom to choose whether to follow their boss or not. Do as he tells you and you receive pay which allows you to live a life of freedom within the boundaries. If you train yourself to stay within those boundaries, the boundaries grow and you receive a greater territory to live freely within.

              1. Dorian Moises Mattar says:

Sarah the problem with your reasoning is that 2000 years have passed by and your god doesn’t fire the devil. That’s my point.

Your assumption that the ship will actually arrive at it’s destination is based on a promise and not factual observations. My comment is based on 2000 years of observations in which dictators do as they please without the intervention of their manager, your god.

To me it makes no difference if you promise me an eternity in heaven, because there is no evidence of such a place, while the suffering in this planet at the hands of such tyrants is very real indeed.

Your last paragraph fails to take into consideration the fact that your god and jesus, clearly state in their book that the only way to the father is thru Christ, so no matter how god one is, if we don’t accept this guy as our “savior”, we are thrown in a lake of fire.

Not a very pleasant reward for good actions, isn’t it?

                1. Sarah Strausbaugh says:

Well, since you already have all the answers to life and God, there is no need for me to continue.

                  1. Dorian Moises Mattar says:

I don’t have all the answers, but I have exponentially more answers than the bible or anyone roaming planet earth back in those days and this is easily provable.

As a primitive book, the bible states that planet earth existed before the sun and that we were created by a god without any an evolutionary process.

Both have been proven incorrect and are only a couple of the vast amounts of erroneous information found in the bible that span from Noah’s Silly Ark to the hideous endorsements of slavery, genocide and the murder of other people who either don’t subscribe to the dogma or are genetically inclined to the same sex.

Religion were our learning wheels, it’s time to take them off and be free.

                    1. John says:

Evolution is proved, oh my god how ignorant. Its called an “theory” of evolution, not a law of evolution, because its based on a million assumptions that spontaneously though some magical event some in-organic molecules combined to create life. If you belive in this magical theory to create a living cell, the most basic of cell needs over 200 bilogical nano machines each working together to sustain life! dont even bother those believing in Bible

                    2. Dorian Mattar says:

I suggest that before you open your trap, you actually research what you are talking about.

A scientific theory is an explanation to observed phenomena and is actually more powerful than the fact itself. Anyone knows that lightning is a fact, but what use is it to us? It is the theory of electromagnetism that gives us the ability to manipulate electricity to power our cities.

Facts are nothing without a theory. A theory is the most important thing that exists in this universe. A theory is the explanation of the fact, the understanding of the fact, the statistically significant data on the observed fact; it is the highest achievement in science. It’s the reason you have GPS, computers and penicillin.

                      Definition:
“A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation.”

                    3. Dorian Mattar says:

Additionally John, The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection has NOTHING, do you understand? NOTHING to do with the creation of life, NOTHING. That would be abiogenesis, NOT evolution.

Evolution deals with life AFTER the first cells starting duplicating themselves.

                      Abiogenesis –

One last comment, wether we know how things work or not, has nothing to do with proving your god. Ignorance is NOT evidence for your god. Long time ago, we where ignorant about earthquakes and we thought a god was behind them, guess what, tectonic plates ARE the cause of earthquakes NOT gods. Oh yeah, that’s the theory of tectonic plates, but hey, it’s just a theory.

                    4. Dorian Mattar says:

And John, Laws and Facts are two different things. Please at least learn that!

                  2. Garet says:

sarah, don’t sweat it. haters gonna hate. =p

even my first (and second to last) post on this dude’s blog is silly of me.i must addmit, i got curious after hearing him rant on cnn belief blog, gee i wonder why he’s on there.

well, we’re probably both just feeding this guy’s ego. there’s a difference in someone honestly looking for answers and someone just using rhetoric to defend tightly held beliefs. the former is a scientist, the latter is dorian.

anyway, now for me to leave my soap own soap box as well. i just didn’t like the tone of this conversation so i wanted to say, hey, ur cool sarah. keep it up.

                    1. Dorian Mattar says:

Provide answers? What answer is there to a god that sits idle while children are raped in church? There is NONE, unless you are a delusional person who doesn’t care about the children or maybe you are one of the priest who actually perpetrated the crimes and got shuffled around to another city, just to do it again, while god eats bon bons.

Freewill is not an excuse to allow a crime to happen if anyone or anything has the power to stop it. If that was the case, we wouldn’t have a police force, everyone should be allowed to do as they pleased. If I see a crime and I can stop it, I stop it, but that’s the difference between us, I base my reality on facts, and you on promises.

Your logic is flawed, but coming from someone who believes a god send himself to run a bloody pagan sacrifice just to force himself to forgive the very creatures he supposedly loves, who without asking are now being forced to believe in the joke, or be sentenced to an eternity of fire.

You are a hypocrite who would allow someone to be punished for the crimes that YOU committed. That is called Irresponsibility!

Feeding my ego? No, you couldn’t feed my ego if you tried, I’m just here because I find humanity interesting enough to have a grain of hope in that I may snap at least some delusional minds back into reality.

But after looking at you, I don’t think there is any hope for that.

“But He said to them, “All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been given: For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it.” ” (Matthew 19:7-8, 10-12, NKJV)

                      Freaking LOONY.

                    2. Garet says:

wow, crazy much? blaming god for sinners, mega rage, ranting, coming up with problems and blaming them on whoever you like… and you’re trying to help people? pfffft. riiiiiiight…

talking about delusions and giving textbook examples in the same post. a true scholar, this one.

if you put half as much effort as you spend scrutinizing others into observing your own fallacies, you might have a chance at actually making a good impact in the world.

well, i suppose if your mind is capable of logic like the above post, i can maybe understand why you’re so confused and cruel to others. fortunately, you’re very bad at it and very obvious.

i think i’m just gonna have my browser’s stylesheets remove you from wordpress notifications – so i’m not tempted to see these ego rants any further. i’m a sucker for this stuff.

your narcissism has pwned you. enjoy your ranting sprees.

Some folks may follow Christ without ever hearing the literal story.

you’re such a cutie when you get up on your little soap box.

now i understand why you go all over on cnn, so you can get hits to this goofy blog. its all coming together

      4. Hurd Hutchins says:

“Faith” is merely believing in something that can’t be proven–and hence is probably false. That describes religion. Fine if you wish to believe in something like this, but it is very divisive. Google says there are 10,000 religions. Google says there are over 33,000 denominations of the Christian “Faith”. They’re all squabbling among themselves–which has led to war and repression, a lot of war and repression. The Catholic Church burned anyone who disagreed with their dogma during the Middle Ages and spent a lot of resources on crusades against the “infidel”; Islam if allowed would like to do the same thing to heretics today (but with a kinder execution–beheading).
My papa said if you take religion away from people, they will come up with something worse, which the history of the last century has sure proven true. So humankind–esply. those who live in religious zones– is caught in a dilemma.
Human history is driven by two things: intelligence and stupidity. Which is going to win–or is a large meteor going to take us out?

    2. Dave says:

I offer this rebuttal as food for thought. Mr. Nielsen states that “it is claimed that “the odds for all these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance without error is less than one in 102000” (there is no explanation of the maths behind the number and seems to be entirely guesswork.)”
Actually, if one does follow the link he provided to reasons.org, there is an explanation of the methodology used to arrive at the statistical odds cited, and coming from a group of secular scientists, no less. Why Mr. Nielsen would deliberately omit this bit of important information is disturbing. Does it give insight into a pre-determination not to see what’s right before his eyes, while simultaneously attempting to obfuscate the vision of others?
Furthermore, there is ample documentation by others of their methodologies used in determining the odds of random Biblical prophecy fulfillment. For example: “Professor Emeritus of Science at Westmont College, Peter Stoner, has calculated the probability of one man fulfilling the major prophecies made concerning the Messiah. The estimates were worked out by twelve different classes, involving more than 600 college students. The students carefully weighed all the factors, discussed each prophecy at length, and examined the various circumstances which might indicate that men had conspired together to fulfill a particular prophecy. They made their estimates conservative enough so that there was finally unanimous agreement even among the most skeptical students. But then Professor Stoner took their estimates and made them even more conservative. He also encouraged other skeptics or scientists to make their own estimates to see if his conclusions were more than fair. Finally, he submitted his figures for review to a Committee of the American Scientific Affiliation. Upon examination, they verified that his calculations were dependable and accurate in regard to the scientific material presented.” (jashow.org).
Moving on, Mr. Nielsen lists some prophecy guidelines – most of which I agree with in substance, but not within his restrictive definition. I agree that too many out there are stretching the hundreds of legitimate prophecies, into thousands of contestable ones, thereby casting doubt (by association) onto the ones verifiably proven as fulfilled. Which is not to say that I don’t agree with those interpretations either, only that they may be construed in other ways – opening the door to skepticism. However, a blanket insistence of absolute clarity (no. 2) defeats the entire purpose of prophecy, which is deliberately foretold in somewhat obscure expressions, (as it is fit that such particular prophecies should be delivered), lest otherwise the plainness of the prophecy might prevent the accomplishment of it. Also, the strictness of Mr. Nielsen’s rule no. 2 (very conveniently) eliminates all use of prophetic metaphor and symbolism – so concordant with the form of the Bible – ruling it beforehand as being inadmissible.
Rule no. 8 also contains a weasel clause: “If there is no time limit on the prophecy then we could have to wait thousands of years before it is “fulfilled” at which point it is not a prophecy but a matter of probability.” For obvious reasons, this rule then negates all prophecy of the end-times as well, since we have not yet arrived there. It needs be noted however, that there is no timeline rule for prophecy, (unless specifically given by God through His prophets – not by Mr. Nielsen). Some prophecies were fulfilled overnight. Some, decades later. Some, hundreds, or even thousands of years later. Many are in the process of fulfillment through today’s events as well. They are foretold more darkly, to stir in us a veneration for the scripture, and to engage our attention and excite our enquiry into discovering both cause and effect. By these excessively-restrictive rules, Mr. Nielsen seems to be assuring himself that nothing can meet his guidelines, effectively stacking the deck in his favor.
Mr. Nielsen then goes on to “prove” his points by violating his very own guidelines, mainly rule no. 7 – No cherry picking. He chooses only those prophecies that he thinks he can easily refute, while completely ignoring the very obvious major fulfillments such as: prophecies of Jesus being born in a specific family, at a specific time, in a specific town not His own, and by virgin birth. He ignores the myriad of prophesies of His rejection by His own leaders. He ignores the many specific prophecies and details of His death including: crucifixion – a method of execution not yet invented; being crucified with a thief on either side; being buried in a rich man’s grave; having the soldiers cast lots for His clothing; how He was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver, and that the silver would go to buy the “potter’s field”. He ignores the fulfilled prophecies of not breaking any of Jesus’ bones, while the legs of the 2 thieves on either side of Him were broken; or that His side would be pierced by a spear; or that He would be raised from the dead to multiple eye-witnesses, etc. Yet Mr. Nielsen is not alone here. I have never seen a single rebuttal or refutation by any of the prophecy skeptics addressing a single one of these major prophecies. You should ask yourselves, Why not? Is it because they are beyond refutation? Instead, the skeptics always seem to choose the same handful of prophecies, and give only half the facts regarding them so as to support their position. So let’s examine the alleged refutations listed here.
To start, he mentions Tyre. Nebuchadnezzar did indeed lay siege to the mainland suburb of Tyre and demolish it, though admittedly, he did not destroy the fortified island city. It is because of this that skeptics such as Mr. Nielsen deny the prophesy as being fulfilled. Yet it must be considered that Ezekiel speaks specifically of Nebuchadnezzar as “he”. (Read the text for yourselves). When he prophecies further about the many other nations that will assail Tyre, (Syria, Egypt, Rome and Greece, for example) he uses the pronoun “they”, as in 26:12 And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise: and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses: and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the water. Though Nebuchadnezzar had left the island city intact, Alexander the Great (one of “they” mentioned) besieged the island city in 332 BC. He completely demolished the old mainland city, using the ruins to construct a land bridge out to the island city. He laid all of the “stones” and “timber” of old Tyre “in the midst of the water” to build a causeway between island and mainland, and was then able to destroy the island city as well – perfectly fulfilling the prophecy. The last part of this particular prophecy is also denounced by the skeptics. 26:19 For thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee….21 And I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord GOD. The secular argument is made that Tyre is still in existence today, so the prophecy was unfulfilled. Unless of course, one considers that mainland Tyre (the actual hub of commerce vs. the island fortress), is now completely submerged under the Mediterranean Sea, due to shifting coastlines, so that the original site of the ancient city is lost to modern knowledge. The current city of Tyre is an entirely new construction built upon part of the island, and in no way resembles the thriving center of global trade it was in the days before Alexander’s conquest. Over the years, Tyre has been assaulted by many warring nations, and devastated by earthquakes. Its main industry is now tourism and there is a picturesque fishing harbor on the north side, thus fulfilling Ezekiel’s prophecy in 26:5 It shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
The next example Mr. Nielsen cites is from Isaiah: “First there is Isaiah 44:28 and 45:1 which is supposedly a prediction of the rise of Cyrus the Great who will conquer Babylon and allow the Jews to return to Israel. However, the prophecy is incredibly vague and was not written hundreds of years before but rather at the time of Cyrus conquests.”
If he had his history correct, then he would know that Isaiah prophesied c.740-680 BC, while Cyrus didn’t become king of Persia until c. 550 BC – over one hundred and fifty years later. And the prophecy is not vague, it states: That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid. Isaiah made this prophecy around 711 BC. In 538 BC., Cyrus, King of Persia, gave permission for the Jews to return from exile, to Jerusalem. This was fulfilled in Ezra 1:2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. It is also confirmed by Cyrus himself, though in no way possible could be construed as self-fulfilling.
Also, (regarding Isaiah 13:17-22), Babylon was situated on the Euphrates River, about 50 miles south of modern Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. Baghdad is located on the Tigris River, approximately 40 miles east of the Euphrates. So Iraq is not Babylon, though geographically near it. Is there on any current map of the world today, a country named Babylon? No. The author is violating two more of his own rules: 2. It must be clear, and 3. It cannot simply be guesswork.
Regarding: “Also Isaiah 13:22 refers to “dragons in their pleasant palaces”. I don’t think something that claims the existence of dragons is something Christians should boast about.” Mr. Nielsen is obviously lacking an argument to deny that snakes can occupy abandoned ruins, so he resorts to denigrating condescension – a sure sign that he is losing his own argument.
The most detailed prophecies of the Bible come from Daniel to which, it’s not surprising to find, Mr. Nielsen gives instant dismissal without any attempt at intellectual rebuttal, preferring instead to introduce his ‘unbiased’ discussion of this book with words such as “silliest” and “bizarre” in a transparent attempt to poison that well of debate in advance. Daniel foretells the Babylonian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, the Alexandrian Empire, as well as the dissolution of that empire into the 4 kingdoms. He even foretells the Roman Empire. “None understood the vision”, because it was yet to be, (notwithstanding the fact that the angel Gabriel explains the vision – which is how we know it to be true ex post facto, and therefore not some “unbelievable stretch of the imagination” as the author contends). The exactness of fulfillment in Daniel 7 and Daniel 11 is astounding. Specific details about dates and times are fulfilled to the letter. In fact, skeptics have been forced to resort to a specific strategy to nullify the exactness of these fulfillments, by claiming that Daniel was written in the 2nd century – after the fact, as history, and not prophecy. Which in itself proves the exactness of Daniel as prophecy. Unfortunately for them, their late-date Daniel argument falls apart by archeological dating, (Dead Sea scrolls dating to the 3rd century BC had Daniel already written and accepted as Jewish canon). Skeptics who choose to believe that this book was written as 20/20 historical hindsight sometime in the 2nd century, (100-199 BC), ignore some very simple facts:
      1) Daniel’s contemporary Ezekiel, (605-575 BC), makes mention of him in his book three times.
      2) As Mattathias was dying, he gave his sons encouragement by reminding them of God’s faithful servants in the past including: 1 Maccabees 2:60 Daniel was a man of integrity, and the Lord rescued him from the mouth of the lions. 61 Take each of these ancestors of ours as an example, and you will realize that no one who puts his trust in the Lord will ever lack strength.
Mattathias died in 166 BC – the same period of time “rationalist” skeptics allege the writing of Daniel. How could Mattathias then refer to Daniel as an ancestor if he was contemporary?
      3) Jesus speaks of “Daniel the prophet” in mentioning the “abomination of desolation”, (Matt. 25:15).
Re: Isaiah 17:1, the Damascus prophecy was fulfilled in 732 BC when the Assyrians leveled the city.
Re: Ezekiel 29:8-12 is an obvious end-times prophecy, and as yet has not been fulfilled.
Re: 2 Kings 22:20, It was not prophesied that Josiah wouldn’t die in battle, but that he would die soon, yet not suffer the evil punishment to come against his people, namely the Babylonian captivity: Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see the evil which I will bring upon this place. Mr. Nielsen is engaging in cherry-picking again, by taking prophecy out of context.
Mr. Nielsen writes: “There are numerous failed prophecies such as Genesis 15:18 which promises the land of Canaan as “an everlasting possession” to the Israelites (a possession the Israelities constantly lose in wars).”
If Israel is “constantly” losing possession of the land, then they must have possession of it in the first place in order to “lose” it. The State of Israel extant is a permanent fulfillment of this prophecy.
Mr. Nielsen claims that Exodus 34:10 (actually 34:11) wasn’t fulfilled – by using a line from Judges 1:19, regarding iron chariots in a different situation. Huh? The lack of faith of the Israelites in God in that instance, is what led them to fear the iron chariots, and thus yield. Exodus 34:11 was fulfilled specifically in the account given in Joshua 11:3 And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh. 4 And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many. 5 And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel. 6 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire. 7 So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them. 8 And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth-maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.
Zechariah 10:11 is another obvious end-times prophecy, yet to be fulfilled, as well as the rest of the other prophecies he cites from Isaiah, although 19:17 “which further predicts (19:17) that Judah will conquer Egypt (it never even tried to invade)” may have met fulfillment in the 6-day war, in which Egypt was chief antagonist and also in which Israel launched surprise strikes against Egypt’s air fields?
In conclusion, Mr. Nielsen, after having set up a straw man and then knocking him down, claims “The evidence for Biblical prophesies is weak to the point of non-existent. Most of the claimed prophecies are merely wishful thinking.”
In fact, the exact opposite has just been shown to be true. The “wishful thinking” comes in his tortured denials of fulfillment. Those who deliberately shut their eyes will never see. There are so many books written on fulfilled prophecy – with detailed fulfillments – that anyone with an open mind cannot come to any conclusion other than the fact that the Bible is a divine book, “a declaration of the divine prescience, looking at any distance through a train of infinite causes, known and unknown to us, upon a sure and certain effect.” (Dr. Grew). To reach Mr. Nielsen’s conclusion, “It boggles the mind that someone could think these meagre scraps could be held as proof of communication with God and an ability to see into the future” is mind-boggling in itself.
So, Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD, (Isaiah 1:18)
After examining only eight different prophecies regarding Jesus, the classes of Dr. Stoner conservatively estimated that the chance of one man fulfilling all eight prophecies was one in 1017. To illustrate how large the number 1017 is (a figure with 17 zeros), Stoner gave this illustration. Imagine covering the entire state of Texas with silver dollars to a level of two feet deep. The total number of silver dollars needed to cover the whole state would be 1017. Now, choose just one of those silver dollars, mark it and drop it from an airplane. Then thoroughly stir all the silver dollars all over the state. When that has been done, blindfold one man, and tell him he can travel wherever he wishes in the state of Texas. But some time he must stop, reach down into the two feet of silver dollars and try to pull up that one specific silver dollar that has been marked. Now, the chance of his finding that one silver dollar in the state of Texas would be the chance the prophets had for eight of their prophecies coming true in any one man in the future. Professor Stoner concluded: “The fulfillment of these eight prophecies alone proves that God inspired the writing of those prophecies to a definiteness which lacks only one chance in 1017 of being absolute.” (jashow.org).

      1. Dorian Moises Mattar says:

Why do you bother with such useless rebuttal? It is nothing but your crazy opinion and a bunch of hearsay. The writers of the NT had the OT and that’s all that is needed to know that they could have easily made all the prophesies take place, and it’s not like they actually took place, because you have no evidence for it, they simply wrote it down as if it did take place in the NT and you take their word for it.

Just completely and utterly useless! Go run a lab with that type of mentality and see what happens!

        1. Dave says:

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.
Thank you for your contributions here in fulfilling this prophecy and thus proving the perfect veracity of God’s word! Have a blessed day.

          1. Dorian Moises Mattar says:

You call that a prophesy? Bahahahahahahahaha!!!! A freaking orangutan could come up with that one! People have believed in different religion as long as humans have lived, you have stated NOTHING new.

That’s like saying, there will be wars, NO SHIT SHERLOCK!

            You are indeed delusional!

      2. thkpic says:

I almost had to go microwave some popcorn for your post- it was that good. I swear, it was better than watching Rocky. How anyone can get up and swivel their jaw back around after reading that I don’t know. Just plain awesome is what that was. God bless.

      3. Adam says:

He omitted a lot. One omission has to do with Daniel’s Goat…it’s no ‘metaphor’! The account specifically states the goat “stands for the King of Greece”. And further avers that Medo-Persia — the ram — would be conquered by the goat. Another omission! I stopped reading after that. The author is disingenuous.

  2. List of X says:

My prophesy is that a Christian commenter will show up on this post and will argue that these biblical prophesies actually came true.
Also, there will be an earthquake, somewhere, eventually.

    1. makagutu says:

Now you have been declared a prophet

      1. List of X says:

The question is, can I be declared a prophet only if my prophesies come true? Because if not, I can make more.

        1. makagutu says:

They don’t have to come true, they only must look like they can come true

      2. allen993 says:

No, I’m No Prophet But A Man Of Greater Faith?

    2. Robert Nielsen says:

I don’t know, that sounds too specific. Better say that a Christian will show up somewhere and say something. Best to keep these things vague.

There will also be war or rumours of war. In case that’s too specific I reserve the right to interpret this metaphorically so war can be “war between two people” ie an argument.

      Behold, it has been spoken.

I am constantly amazed that people will repeat gross oversimplifications that they have been told. If you are going to claim 2000 propheses have come true, shuld you not check a few, you know, just in case the asshole who told you that was embellishing things a bit? I guess I have been guilty of this from time to time, but it is easier and easier to check this stuff.

I thought Robert your specialist skills applied to economics and finance, increasingly you seem to have a line of inquiry, with regard to religion, whats going on? with you.

    1. Robert Nielsen says:

Sure my education is in economics not theology, but religion affects my life just as much, so that’s why I discuss it here. Plus I find the concept interesting.

      1. Sarah Strausbaugh says:

Hi Robert, we chatted a while ago on my blog. I was reading some old posts of mine and stumbled over here. If God isn’t real, why does religion affect your life? People believe in fairies and trolls, and I can promise you, they do not impact my life. I may shake my head at them but certainly wouldn’t waste hours of my life proving they don’t exist.

        1. Robert Nielsen says:

Because I am affected by the beliefs and actions of those around me. When people oppose gay marriage or abortion for religious reasons, that affects me even though I’m an Atheist. Religion has a lot of influence on society even if you don’t agree with it.

Also I don’t like when people are wrong. If as many people believed in faeries and trolls as believe in God, I would spend just as much if not more time debating with them and trying to convince them. (For the record I have never met anyone who believed in trolls or faeries). I think the truth is a great thing that should be shared and I wouldn’t want people to be wrong if there was anything I could do about it. By debating we get closer to the truth and avoiding discussion doesn’t help anyone.

        2. Dorian Mattar says:

Do we debate Allah and Mohammed? Yes. Is Allah real? Hum…

An excellent post on the matter of prophecies. I imagine that if the criteria listed here by Robert Nielsen were applied there would be few real Biblical prophecies and I would be fairly surprised if any of them had come true.

  9. Andrew says:

You know, it’s not just Christians who use the fulfilled prophecies line as a way to argue that their holy book is the true word of god. I have heard the same arguments from most other religions too.

I imagine a prophecy competition. Maybe a short film or something where the major religions go head-to-head, so we can all finally see which one is actually the one true religion. (I make short films, so maybe I can make this happen.)

Did you do all the research for this essay first-hand? Like searching through the bible for prophecies? Sounds like that would have been a lot of work.

    1. Robert Nielsen says:

That’s a good idea. I think Christians would impose far higher standards on other religions than on their own.

“Did you do all the research for this essay first-hand? Like searching through the bible for prophecies?”

Oh no that would take forever. I just went to some religious sites that claimed prophecies were true and examined those ones. There are links to them above.

THE LAST DAYS OF SATAN’S RULE
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11
The last days refers to the end of Satan’s rule over the Earth.
1And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: Revelation 20
This means the selfish will lose control and power over the Earth. Christ will reign through the members that make up the body of Christ that have overcome.
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 1 John 2
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold Matthew 24
In the last days false prophets will preach a gospel of selfishness trying to convince men to follow their man made doctrine. They will not preach the gospel of love.
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
    4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3

The last days is the transition into the kingdom of God.
Rapture is not found in the Bible. All the verses that reference caught up in the clouds is referring to the definition of clouds. Cloud is defined as a mass or large number. To be caught up together in the clouds means a mass or large number of people.
To meet the Lord in the air is a metaphor. Just like moving mountains does not literally mean to move a mountain. The same is meeting the Lord in the air a metaphor for reaching heaven though realizing the kingdom of God.
Additionally the verses about people being taken and others left behind is referring to a person realizing the truth and becoming a part of the cloud of people. Those who are left behind are the people who do not realize the truth and are not a part of the cloud or mass of the selfless children of God who love.
The rapture does not make sense. They falsely teach Jesus comes back raptures people and takes them to heaven. Then the 7 years tribulation on Earth after which Satan is cast away for 1000 years.
Then God returns the raptured people to Earth? Where there is still death? Because death is not removed until after Satan is released after 1000 years and he is locked away forever. Then there is no more death in the new heaven and new Earth as found in Revelation 21.
That does not make any sense. Where is this 1000 years where there is still death until the new heaven and new Earth? Is the 1000 years it in raptured heaven or Earth? If it is in raptured heaven why is there still death for 1000 years?
It does not make sense because it is not truth.
The truth is the kingdom of God is in the power of Jesus coming in the clouds of people that will rule as the children of God and with Jesus the head and the members the body of Christ.
    This transition has already started.

    THE BEAST OF REVELATION 13
The beast who is commonly known as the anti-christ was Adolf Hitler.
18Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six(666) Revelations 13

The numbers of the letters in his name correspond to the letters of the alphabet and his name is calculated to 666 as such:
    Adolf A=1, D=4, O=15, L=12, F=6
    [{O15-(A1-D4)}-L12]+F6=6
Or if you use his birth name Adolfus:
    A=1, 4=D, O=15, L=12, F=6, U=21, S=19
    F6+(U21-S19)=8-2=[{O15-(A1+D4)}-L12] 8-2=6
    Hitler H=8, I=9, T=20, L=12, E=5, R=18
    (R18-E5)-(T20-L12)+(I9-H8)=6
And his middle name that he dropped was: Schicklgruber:
    S=19, C=3, H=8, I=9, C=3, K=11, L=12, G=7, R=18, U=21, B=2, E=5, R=18
    S19-C3=16 I9-H8=1 L12-K11=1 U21-R18=3 R18-E5-B2=11
    16-11=5+1+1+3+C3=13-G7=6

He committed suicide and shot himself in the head.
3And I saw one of its heads as it were wounded to death Revelations 13
Hitler clothes are reminiscent of the colors of a leopard. His boots black as a bear and his mouth roared as a lion.
2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion. Revelations 13

This refers to the eagles, the pins/metals and decorations Hitler was adorned with.
4Like a leopard which had upon it the back of it four wings of a fowl the beast had four heads and dominion was given to it Daniel 7
And he spoke great blasphemes and people were mesmerized.
6And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies: and power was given unto him forty and two months Revelations 13

Forty and two months is divided by the 7 heads equals 7 years. World War II was seven years from 1939-1945.

7And it was given unto him to make war. Revelations 13
    And the war machines used:
7Behold a forth beast dreadful and terrible and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake into pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it Daniel 7
And he caused all the Jews to receive a mark so as they could not buy or sell without it.
And he caused all both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark on their right hand or in their for head. And that no man might buy or sell, save that he had the mark or the number of his name. Revelations 13:16-17
His body was doused in petrol and burned.
11I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. Daniel 7

    GREAT TRIBULATION HARLOT OF BABYLON
There will be Great tribulations for those who continue to fornicate with the Harlot of Babylon and do not repent. The Harlot of Babylon is superficial riches of materialism and greed and those who hoard them. While they have no compassion or empathy to the sorrow and injustice instead turn a blind eye to those dying of need. As such those who fornicate with her are going to be in great tribulation because the economy is going to collapse.

3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have vomited fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. Revelations 18
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she said in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow Revelations 18
8Therefore shall her plagues come in one day Revelations 18
9And the kings of the Earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning. Revelations 18
11And the merchants of the earth shall weep and morn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise anymore Revelations 18
15 The merchants of all these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing. Revelations 18
17For in one house so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off Revelations 18
19And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! For in one hour is she made desolate Revelations 18
23For thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived Revelations 18

    ANOTHER BEAST
There is a second beast which has risen. The second beast is Islam.
Allah is not love. Allah is not love because it does not say ‘Allah is love’ in the Koran like the Bible says ‘God is love’. Therefor Allah is not God because God is love.
37Neither shall he regard the God of his father, nor the desire of women nor regard any god : for he shall magnify himself above all. Daniel 11
Facts in the Quran that are not Love.
Mohammad was materialistic conquer who possessed a lot of riches and wives. This is opposite of Jesus message of selflessness.
Quran allows for you to marry as many women that please you. Those there are those in the Bible who had multiple wives but it is not approved by God. In fact the down fall of many mighty men were a result of seeking pleasure from women. Marring women just for pleasure is not of God.
The Quran states you can beat your wife but not in excess. Beating your wife is never of Love.
The Quran states Jesus did not die on the cross and he faked his death. Calling him a liar. While simultaneously trying to have it both ways saying he was a prophet and to follow his teachings. This is something the greatest manipulator would say as it would appease followers of Jesus while followers of Mohammad would dismiss Jesus as a liar and ignore his teachings.
Mohammad calls himself a prophet of Allah. This is true but who is Allah? He is not Love. If he is not love who is he of? The Quran states to love Allah. Who are you loving if you are not loving God who is Love. I don’t know. Selfishness probably.
The Quran NEVER states Allah is love. This being a fact means Allah is not God because GOD IS LOVE.
THIS IS THE BOTTOM LINE TRUTH WHY ALLAH IS NOT GOD.

Daniel 11 is about the Mohammad and spread of Islam until verse 39. Then Daniel 11:40-45 is the currently happening in the middle east. (2010+)
39Thus shall he(those whose god is Allah) do in the most strong holds with a strange god(Allah), whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many and divide the land for gain Daniel 11
Daniel chapter 12 is the near future until 2026.
2026 marks the end of tribulation\the age, and the beginning of the Kingdom of God/Love.

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place. Matthew 24

    The basis for this is:

11And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Daniel 11

The abomination spoke of is the Dome of the Rock that is built on the temple mount in Israel. The 1290 days refers to the time took to build the Dome of the Rock. 1290 days divided by a 30 day month equals 43 months. Similar to the way the months of Hitler’s reign is calculated, the 43 months divided by 7 equals 6.14 years. This coincides with the approximate 6+ years it took to build the Dome of the Rock 685-691 AD.
Then from 691 to the next date 1335 days which is 1335 years is 2026.

12Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days Daniel 12
2026 marks the end of tribulation\the age of selfishness, and the beginning of the Kingdom of God/Love.
Sometime until 2026 will be Armageddon.
Some may say no one knows the year but Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour. The year was revealed to Daniel.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matthew 24

This, however, does not mean we render evil for evil. Selfishness can only be defeated by selfless love never selfishness.

13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends John 15

The Lord Jesus Christ abhors violence.
The true love of God is to lay down your life NOT KILL for it. To kill for it and die is not laying down your life. To kill for it and die is losing your life because it was taken. Laying down your life is willingly giving it up. To lose your life is because someone took it, NOT because you willing gave it up by laying it down like Jesus Christ did for us.

    ARMEGEDDON
Jesus speaks of Armageddon taking place in the Middle East.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place. Matthew 24
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house: Neither Let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: For then there shall be great tribulation the kind that hasn’t taken place from the beginning of the world until now and never will again. Matthew 24:15-21
Daniel 8 speaks of Armageddon. The ram is the crescent moon of Islam. The Arabs read from right to left. As such, the higher horn of the crescent moon is on the left and comes up last and higher in the prophecy.
Then I lifted mine eyes, and, saw and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last. I saw the ram pushing westward, and north ward and south ward: so that no beast might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but did according to his will and became great. And I was considering, behold an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. and he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. and I saw him come close unto the ram, and he moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. Daniel 8:3-7
20The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia Daniel 8
21And the rough goat is the king of Grecia; and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. Daniel 8

The goat is the ruler who overcame. He leads the Spiritual revival and leads the world into the 1000 year rule under Jesus and the members who make up Body of Christ. The Kingdom of God/Love.

And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end , to him will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father Revelations 2:26-27
He who overcame is the Prophet who reveals the what the seven spirits of God and reveals the mystery of God. Spoken of by Jesus:
Can ye not discern the signs of the times? A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall be no sign given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas Matthew 16:4

Jesus was not talking about Jonah because he was referring to the future and not the past.
Under the leadership of the head being Jesus, the first who overcame and those who overcame the world, the Body of Christ, against the Beast.

16And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and the wrath of the Almighty. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Revelations 17

The vesture he who overcomes uses is the sword of Truth of the Word of Jesus Christ. This Word of Truth is Love which conquers all things.
2026 marks the end of tribulation\the age of selfishness, and the beginning of the Kingdom of God/Heaven. This is the marriage supper of the Lamb.

    THE KINGDOM 1000 YEAR REIGN
4And they that lived reigned with Christ 1000 years Revelation 20
After the greatest revival in which the devil will have no power and the believers who make up the Body of Christ will reign for 1000 years.
3That the serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. Revelations 20
This signals the start of the 1000 year reign. The Kingdom of God/love.
21And the rough goat is the king of grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. Daniel 8
This is during the 1000 year after he who overcame passes.
22Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. Daniel 8
After 1000 years Satan will be released and selfishness will increase. Satan will continue a short time after that.
5And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed from his prison Revelations 20
And in the later time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance , and understanding dark sentences shall stand up and his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and holy people. And through his policy also shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up to the Prince of Princes; Daniel 8:21-24
8And shall go out and deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth. Revelations 20
9and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them Revelations 20
25but he shall be broken without hand. Daniel 8
2300 years from 691 is one thousand more years from the 2026 which relates to the other dates in Daniel. 3026 is the approximate year when Satan is released.
14Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed Daniel 8
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Revelation 20
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Revelation 21
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: Revelation 22
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 1 Corinthians 15

KINGDOM OF GOD IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN
The kingdom of Heaven is the kingdom of God. They are the same.

Here is an example where Jesus used them interchangeably.
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Matthew 19

    LITTLE BOOK
12I have many more things to say to you but you cannot bear them now John 16
The little book reveals the mystery of the one true God. God is Love. Love is God.
4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God Matthew 4
As you have physical needs so to do you have spiritual needs. If you lack in any of the seven spirits of God you will be in danger of torment.
The little book reveals the seven Spirits of God.
1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. Revelation 10
    9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Revelation 7

Those who are faithful with these seven Spirits of Love will inherit the kingdom of God after tribulation.

36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. John 18
24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. MARK 13
The cloud that is being referred to is the mass of believers who are the elect that make up the body of Christ.
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us Hebrews 12

The powers that are shaken refers to Satan/selfishness losing control over the world and the elect who make up the body of Christ ruling.
We are in the transition as we speak.

    1. Dorian Mattar says:

This is what you need to do, and the sooner the better. Dial 911, and tell them that you won’t resist.

Holly shit you are bat fucking crazy!

      1. jlk311 says:

        Oh yeah. Why is that?

  15. Jason says:

Uh Daniel chapter 8 identifies the one horned goat as “the king of Greece”. I fail to see the stretch there or did you think no one would bother to actually read the verses?

    1. jlk311 says:

King of Greece just means this person comes from the west. In fact it says he comes from across the whole face of the earth. Greece is only about 700 miles from the middle east and not the whole face of the Earth.

A lot of things in the Bible and NOT literal. Most are metaphors to describe that which those who perceived them did the best they could to describe.
